Just a day or so to go and have a wee question.......

Does anyone have any recent experience of immigration at Sanford airport since the introduction of the ESTA?

Its been a few years since we flew into Sanford and back then we still used the green visa form and it took ages to get through immigration.

Is it quicker now?

I know Newark airport was a breeze in December - almost straight through immigration with the ESTA so I am keeping my fingers crossed that Sanford sees the same improvements

Can anyone help?

Hi :goodvibes

We flew into Sanford in August 2009.

I remember it taking a while but that was because we were in one massive queue from which they directed us to the immigration booths/desks as they came available.

After finger prints, we handed over the green card things we filled in on the plane, and then answered the usual questions of where are you staying etc etc. They also asked me about some cigarettes I had bought in LGW which I had in a bag.

We were a family of 4 and were at the desk for just over 5 minutes I'd say. Didn't seem too long at all.

Don't know if that's any help for you lol! Can't really compare that to what it was like pre-ESTA as I can't remember that far back :)

Just booked ourselves and are wondering the same. Haven't been in to Sanford since summer 2003 and remember the long queue for immigratgion as the whole flight disembarked to a very limited number of visa waver 'stations'. Hope ESTA has speeded things up. :)
