We are flying into Sanford airport in December, does anyone know of any reputable companies that will take a family of six from Sanford to Disney?

When we were planning on flying into Sanford, before our flights were cancelled, we thought it was cheaper to rent a car. It was going to be about 130.00 one way for the 6 of us. To rent a mini van was only 215.00 for 5 days. that was we had an auto to use all week also. Now, we are flying into MCO and using thd disney transportion. good luck :earsboy:

We decided not to fly into Sanford because I couldn't find a car Co. that would take us for less than 130.00 RT for 3 people, and we didn't need to rent a car for the week.

we usually rent a car from dollar, you get a free upgrade when you sign up to be a member, in the car in about 15 min. they always have plenty od cars.but my nephew used a shuttle because he was under 25 and said it worked fine...

I found a rate of about $40 or $45 from National to rent a car at Sanford for one day. We will turn the car in to the National office at the Dolphin hotel. Then rent it again for one day at the end of our trip to get back to Sanford. It's a lot less money than a shuttle company or limo.

We just returned from our trip to Disney yesterday having gone through Happy Limo for our transport each way. The cost was $205 round trip which included a prepaid gratuity. I know Tiffany Town Car also will transport from Sanford to Disney. When I looked last, the price is about the same as Happy Limo once tip is added on.

I would recommend Happy Limo as we has no problems. However, you she read my post about Happy Limo Gratuity.

I'm interested to hear others' experiences, too. We recently found great airfare ($39 each way!) but it's into Sanford, not MCO. As long as the cost of ground transport doesn't eat up the savings for the flight, we'll likely do it!

Realize the distance from the Sanford Airport to Disney is over twice as far than from the Orlando Int'l Airport. So, of course the ground transportation cost will be that much more. To see the transportation companies that are permitted to pick up from the Sanford Airport, go to www.orlandosanfordairport.com . Then you can scroll down the list of companies, and see their websites.

Anyone know if there is a shuttle bus from Sanford to Disney area? My mom is flying into Sanford by herself and needs transportation to the Sheraton Safari, but doesn't want to pay for a private car just for herself.

I checked the website for the airport and it appears it is all private cars/vans that are listed there rather than a shuttle. She flew into Sanford 2 years ago and took a shuttle but can't remember the name.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Lori

Planning to rent a car at Sanford, rather than taking taxi. Anyone know best route to take from Sanford airport to WDW? (Specifically Epcot area resort)? Thanks!

this is the shuttle "american coach"

we used a shuttle once, also remember it is cheaper to rent for 1 day and drop off at car care in disney or at the dolphin alamo/national only
also deb's site gives direct driving directions to any disney resort
i think she might be off on the tolls if i remember just bring extra change...

we have rented from dollar and make a few food stops during our stay..

Thanks for the info. I haven't checked, but I am assuming that since it is just my mom coming in from Sanford (we are coming into MCO from a different city), it would be cheaper to take a shuttle. All the "shuttles" on the Sanford Airport sight are actually individual drivers/cars. I called or emailed almost all of them. They seem to use the word shuttle very liberally. The usacoach/american coach one does not show Orlando Sanford on their company website, but I will give them a call and see if I can figure something out.

I will also check the price for a rental for one day, but my mom is older and would prefer to just take a shuttle if at all possible.

Thanks again.

The American Coach/USA coach website is very misleading, but they do offer true "shuttle" service from Orlando Sanford. It is costing my mom $21 one way or $40 Round trip. Not too bad. I am glad I called their onsite number, because after viewing their website I thought it was a mistake that they were listed there.

Mainstreet, if your mother is staying at the Sheraton, ask them if they have a shuttle to the Sanford airport....
