Sanford airport

We are flying into the Sanford airport via Allegiant Air on December 15th, 2007 for a weeklong stay at WDW. Any suggestions for transportation to/from the Sanford airport.

Your cheapest option is probably to rent a car for the week. Ground transportation to the Disney area is pretty expensive. A car also gives you a lot of flexibility to visit other places around Orlando during your visit.

We flew into Sanford last December and would need a 7 passenger rental van for our family. I never found a good deal on a van so opted for a car service. We got that cheaper than a van rental for a week. We got a 15 passenger van to pick us up for $180 (plus tip) round trip to the WL. Van rentals were way more than that for us and we didnt need the van at the resort. I liked that we didnt have to worry about driving directions from the airport to the hotel. We just jumped into the van and the driver took us. We sat back and relaxed. We used Transportation FL (Sunrise FL) and they did a great job. They were waiting at the WL for our return flight a week later.

In the past we have gotten a rental but the rates are extremely high over Christmas when we are going this year. We decided to use Sunray to transport us this time.

I agree...the car is the way to go for flexibility.

We rented cars at the Sanford airport for a week in May and for another week in July, and it was easy and convenient to pick up and drop off the cars at the airport. Also, there are two gas stations about a mile or two outside the airport gates, so filling the cars with gas before returning them was not a hassle either.

DopeyGirl, Are you flying out of Chattanooga? If so, we are on the same flight. We are driving up from Georgia. It's much less trouble than the Atlanta airport.
