I have been referencing these boards since 2003. You have been sooo helpful! But, believe it or not this is my first time posting a question! Here goes....We are planning a trip for January 2008. We are a family of 7 and are renting a vacation home for our 9 day trip. We are trying to keep expenses down by renting a home that is a bit further out than others and I'd like your opinions on whether High Grove or Sandy Ridge is better. I"m thinking things like traffic congestion to and from the parks, accessibility to restaurants and Walmart, etc. The company we are renting from only has homes in those two neighborhoods and I can't decide between the two. I thought those of you with more firsthand knowledge could shine a little light on the subject.

Thanks for all your help over the years!

Jennifer

HighGrove is at the west end of 192 very close to the Wal Mart and a new Chilis about to open any day now and not too far from a Publix -either at the end of 192 or down 27 about 3 miles. You have Randy's diner just a little north or down by the Publix at Sand Mine Road there is an Applebees, American Diner called Kokopellies sp? a Chinese take out pizza place and an Indian.A little further south there is Beef O 'Brady's Another Chilis at Champions Gate as well as French creperie and a few other eateries. To get to the parks you will use 192 and either the new toll road -429 or Sherberth Road.
Sandy Ridge is further south down by 1-4 and closer to the Championsgate area. Not quite so much here but there is a Wal Mart down in Haines City .To get to the parks you can use I-4 .Both are fairly new communities .

Thanks for the quick reply. Are both of these communities about the same travel time to the parks or is one a little quicker?

Given that the traffic on I-4 probably moves a little quicker even though you are further south I can't really see there being much of a difference time wise -High grove maybe 5 mins or so quicker - its just that High grove will be closer to the shops etc.
