Is it too cold in late December to wear sandles. Should I just leave them at home and take a good pair of sneakers?

Christmastime temperatures in WDW vary widely. Average highs are around 70 and morning lows around 50, but you could be in the 80s some days and not get out of the 50s on other days.

I have been to WDW twice in the middle of December. I wore sandals on both trips. I'm packing them along with sneakers for my trip this Dec. 17-24.

I'm packing for warm and cold weather, because you can expect both.

We were at WDW the first week of January 2005. It was 82 degrees and we swam 3 days that week. Take your sandals and sneakers. It will be great to change off if the weather cooperates.

Yes

It can be brrrrrr cold in the evenings at Epcot if you dont cover up.

You could always hire a locker and change, but its never too hot that "sneakers" (I call them trainers) become uncomfortable even on a long day.

Being a guy, so I never own more than 2 pieces of footwear at any one time, you might want to view my comments with the appropriate scepticism!!!!!

We were there in the late 80's on Christmas Day and Florida was in a deep freeze. It was like 30 degrees there. We knew what to expect, but I felt bad for all the Brazilian tourists who didn't come prepared for the cold. MK sold out of socks and gloves and the only things that were left were those big Mickey hands! But by the end of the week it was in the high 70's. Check the forecast about 5 days out. You never know what can happen with the weather.

When I was there last year in Dec, there was one day when you would have been able to wear sandals. The other days were too cold. I would have been annoyed if I'd brought sandals, shorts, etc. that I couldn't wear. So I'd just keep an eye on the weather and don't even try to decide this one until closer to your actual departure.

Last XMAS was definitely cold. We were in long underwear under jeans, long sleeved shirts, jackets and gloves. I also wore 2 pair of socks with my tennis-shoes to keep my feet warm. We purchased and used hand-warmers from Wal-Mart. Definitely not sandals weather! Now, it could be warm, but the weather is so variable at that time of year, I'd definitely bring along some warm shoes.
