I was just blowing and using my hand to get the dust off -- see the photo on the right. On the left I used a paper towel and really polished it. I think it looks a lot better with crisper lines and color.

Any other tips? What do you use to sand? I just grabbed a piece from DH's stash in the basement but I don't have the control I'd like. Something like a thimble with a sandpaper tip would be nice. Any suggestions?

It depends on what I am sanding- I have the basic grey file kit and I use these for edges- when sanding across a paper- like it looks like you are doing- finding the core of cardstock I use a sanding block- it is a little soft block with sandpaper on 1 side- I think mine is from Stamping up but I am not sure without looking at it.

I use the Making Memories sanding block, but I also have the file kit. Coredinations has a "dust cloth" that was $1.99 I think...I bought it and now I can't find it! To pick up stuff on my desk and mat, I use baby wipes. I also found that a dried out baby wipe (I had one left in the package and obviously the package wasn't sealed) does a great job cleaning off the paper. So I guess any soft cloth would work.

I use emory boards from the dollar store, and nail buffer blocks from Sally's

I use the nail buffer foam blocks from the Christmas Tree Shop and Danica has a Tim Holtz sanding block but also uses emery boards.

huh...good tip, thanks. i just blow ;)

i use sandpaper/block kit from Close to my Heart, but I like the emery board tip too!
