Sanaa or Steakhouse 71?

We have never been to either, but I just got reservations for both (but at the exact same time, so one has to go). We have two young kids (6 and 4), but I wouldn't characterize either as a picky eater. We are staying at AKL that night, so obviously Sanaa would be easier from a logistics perspective, but what would you do and why?

The obvious thing to do is look at the menus for each and see if they have something your kids will eat. That said, Sanaa has the animals right outside the window which may be more interesting for the kids.

We enjoyed our meal at Steakhouse 71 more, but it wouldn't be worth traveling to that area just for that when Sanaa is so much more convenient. Both are good.

(If you'll be in MK prior to dinner, I'd do the steakhouse.)

Because you'll be at AKL, Sanaa for sure. However, as previous poster mentioned, if you're coming from MK prior to the ressie, Steakhouse isn't that big of a transportation issue.

Sanaa is great and super interesting for folks of all ages, but especially kids. When you check in at the host stand, ask for a window table. One thing I'll mention though is to check the time of your ressie. If it's at night (past sunset), it's hard to see the animals because the glare/bright lights in the restaurant reflect against the glass of the windows. (Kind of like when you're outside of a house at night and you can see into the house, but the house can't see you.)

have not been to Steak House 71 yet.
Love Sanaa.
It really depends on what you want. A steakhouse or Indian inspired food.
From reviews, I would say you can't go wrong with either.

Steakhouse 71 was good, but I would not pass up Sanaa for it. Nor, would I travel from AKL to eat there.

Thanks, everyone. We will stick with Sanaa since it seems like the general consensus is that Steakhouse 71 isn't worth a special trip. My husband is a steak guy, but we also live in Charleston where there is no shortage of great steak places.

Good choice! Highly recommend starting off the meal with the bread service. If your husband is craving a steak at Sanaa, the NY strip is really good! I think all Disney chefs must learn how to make a solid steak regardless of what restaurant they are at. I'm a gal who loves options so I always order the Potjie Inspired and choose based on what I'm craving. The menu, like all Disney menus right now, has actually decreased in size, but the good entrees are still on there. Really can't go wrong. When we go, sually someone at the table orders the sustainable fish and is always pleased with what they get. So that's a good option as well. I've seen lots of kids at the restaurant, but never been with a kid at my table so can't speak to the kids' menu. Sorry!

Looking at the menu is making me hungry... Maybe I should make a ressie there foir my upcoming trip. Hmm....

I agree that Sanaa is the best choice give the circumstances. Steak is good but it is just steak and be can enjoyed anywhere even on the BBQ at home. Sanaa offers a more unique experience.

Had a wonderful dinner at steakhouse. Have only had lunch at saana and plan to return for next time. liked both very much. You really can’t go wrong.

Since you are staying at AKL, I say experience it there to the fullest. Explore the resort and eat at the resort. Lots to see and do there and it’s so unique!
Save SH71 for a MK day.
