I have eaten at Sanaa 4 times for lunch and once for dinner. I really like the shrimp curry, the Naan bread, and the Tandori Shrimp on Naan bread.
The servers I have had was outstanding. I have also been able to eat lunch tree times at a table next to the windows. Great views of a number of animals and I was able to get a lot of very good pictures.
After or before you eat, there is a walkway out to the savannah. There always seems to be a savannah guide or two out there from different African countries who I loved talking to.
Last Wednesday I did a new experience-dine with animal keepers. It is so new you can't book it with the regular dining folks, you have to call the restaurant or Kidani front desk.
It is a 4 course meal limited to 12 guests, only on Wednesday from 11:30 to 1:15. They serve the salad sampler and lots of pieces of their bread (I like the Naan bread made in house the bwest by far). They had every topping they serve available to sample.
The main course was the basami rice with the chicken and the shrimp curries. I really like the shrimp curry.
Desert was the desert sampler, 3 to try.
It also included any drink you wanted (non-alcoholic) and coffee with desert.
The highlight though is getting to hear the animal people talk. We had the curator who is over all employees who deal with the animals on all the savanahs at the two resorts as well as the animals at the park, and one of his managers. They spoke at length about their backgrounds and experiences, but especially about how Disney manages and cares for the animals and interacts with other zoos. They focused as well on how they introduce multiple species on a single savannah, something not done anywhere else.
It was amazing. They encouraged any and all questions. Although it was supposed to be an hour and a half deal, they stayed to answer questions for more like 2 and a half hours. We only had 5 guests, and the guy over all of Disney's social media and one of his assistants were there too to find out about this new experience and get info to blog about it. The two animal people were very interesting folks, excellent speakers and passionate about what they do. Their excitement was contagious.
The cost was $49 including tax and tip and a $5 donation to an animal conservation fund.
I would recommend it and plan to bring my daughter during our next trip.
