Based on some great feedback from this board, my family has decided that Sanaa is a must do for our upcoming May 9-14 trip. My thought is that we go there from AK if we can coordinate FP+'s and an ADR for the same day.

Would you do a late lunch (lunch ends at 3:00) or an early dinner (dinner starts at 5:00)? We really want to be able to see animals out the windows, so wondering when we are most likely to see them. We also want to balance having enough time at AK before we go. We do have PHs, so can go back to AK another day too. Any suggestions??

Thanks!!

I would do a late lunch personally, but you should check out the menus and see which appeals more. My favorite item at Sanaa (besides the bread service) is the Tandori Chicken, which is only available for lunch, that said, we are going for dinner on our April trip, and I know we will still enjoy our meal tremendously. You may have a slightly better chance of getting a window seat though if you do the first dinner seating and get there early, but it isn't guaranteed by any means, and you can still walk around the resort before/after to see the animals.

Hmmm...we stayed at AKL in April and there were always animals around when you were walking past the viewing areas. I don’t think the two hour window will make any difference as far as that goes. If you went at 3 you could always head to Jambo House after and walk around the public viewing areas or get a drink and hang on the balconies, it’s really very lovely there.
It really depends on if you want to be at AK longer or leave and explore AKL for a bit. I personally love AK and there is plenty to see at AKL so
I would lean towards a 3pm lunch and then do a second day at AK but that’s just me :)

I would do the early dinner and stay late at AK. That way you don’t need to worry about rushing. It will still be light enough to see the animals and increases your chances of getting a window seat
