Sanaa fence blocking view

Not sure if this is well known and I just missed the memo, but we ate at Sanaa last night and there is a fence outside the windows completely blocking any Savannah view while eating, as they are painting the outside of the building and don’t want the animals to be too close. It was definitely a bummer although the walkway just outside the restaurant is still available and unobstructed so we went out before and after our meal to view the animals, but with two little kids it would have been nice to have the view/entertainment during dinner too. Overall our meal was fantastic, drinks delicious and great service so I didn’t feel the need to complain about something out of their control, but just a heads up in case this will make or break your visit.

That is a bummer! One of the main draws to Sanaa is the view from the restaurant

Was this a new fence? Just in general, can you give us more information about the fence?

We have a reservation there in 3 weeks, with the two draws being the animals and the bread service. I also would like some more info about the fence, please. Did it seem temporary?

It seems temporary but I don’t know how long it takes to paint that side of the building and the restaurant hostess didn’t seem to know a time estimate. I’d suggest calling ahead a day or two before your reservation.

Thank you. I know they have to do maintenance but I would have been very disappointed in your position.

We've eaten there 3 or 4 times, but since we're a party of 5, we're never really super close to the windows. In any case, I think views are OK anyway, not outstanding. Sometimes there aren't even many animals in view. The restaurant is still pretty good in terms of food and atmosphere/decor even without seeing animals. Plus, there are lots of better vantage points around the resort for viewing animals if people have time before or after their meal.

Here are some exciting fence pics!! Sanaa is ground level underneath the arches. It seems almost a bit sunken too, so your view is really just the green drape on the temporary chain link fence, I don’t think you could even see the top of the fence or an animal that may be taller like a giraffe, at least we couldn’t from our vantage point when seated. Sorry I didn’t think to take any interior pics.

It shouldn't take a month, or even three weeks, to paint the building. But the PP is correct - Call more than a day in advance.

Plus, there are lots of better vantage points around the resort for viewing animals if people have time before or after their meal.
