Sanaa already all booked up for January???

We have never eaten at Sanaa but thought we would give it a try when we are there in Jan 2013.
Is it usually a difficult restaurant to get into? Both Jan 1 to Jan 3 are all booked up for dinner????????
One other question, do resort restaurants ever leave any seating for resort guests? I am wondering if we cannot ever find a reservation, what our chances are of a walk up?

I don't see why they would however I would check with the concierge at your hotel When we were at AKL, the CM was able to get us an ADR for a restaurant that was showed as all booked up (for 2 of us).

Just keep checking and if your group is small enough, they may be able to stick you in there at some point

You should be able to get a walk-up at Sanaa. It may be that the restaurant will be closed those days for a rehab or something, and that is why it is showing no available times.

I hope the CMs are right that Sanaa has not opened yet for January 2013 reservations and not that Sanaa is getting a refurb. Did they tell when the ADR window might open? I tried today to make lunch and dinner ADRs for January 10 or 11 and nothing.

She told me to try back in a few days. I checked the rehab schedule and Sanaa is not on it. Crossing my fingers.

I am right there with you trying to book for January 2013. Are you trying for lunch or dinner? I keep trying for both.

I am trying for a lunch or dinner. Do not care. I thought it would be nice to eat there on the day we check in to Kidani. I thought we could enjoy the resort and relax, but still nothing

You certainly won't need a reservation for *lunch* in January. Whenever I've been there, maybe a quarter of the tables were filled. Probably a lot less than that most of the time.

(Truthfully, I'm worried they may just discontinue lunch there, like they did at Spoodles years ago.)

Well if they do I aure hope they move the burger to the dinner menu. It is the only thing my DH would eat there!

I am happy to report that I was able to FINALLY make a reservation at Sanaa on January 10, 2013.

I hope everyone else is able to get their availbility now too.

Thanks for the report. We are signed up for 30 January. (Admittedly, lunch on a Wednesday in January would be an easy walk-up, but there's something nice about having your name on the list.)
