Looking at the options for San Juan that are not the rainforest or similar (VERY bad experience with my guide for the Rainforest and Waterfall hike and I fear getting stuck with him or someone just like him again).

I'm thinking maybe beach day and see these two options...

SJ32 - Isla Verde Beach Escape $119

Travel to Isla Verde Beach, a perfect destination for relaxing on the beach or enjoying the peaceful coastal waters.

On this adventure you will...

  • Your motorcoach driver will pick you up and take you on a quick 20-minute transfer to Isla Verde beach for your day of relaxation! Isla Verde beach's tranquil water makes this an ideal place to learn a variety of water sports.
  • Lounge on a beach chair, play volleyball or enjoy the resort pool. Includes a lunch buffet of authentic Puerto Rican food and a selection of nonalcoholic beverages.
  • You may also choose from a variety of water sports and rentals—available at an additional cost.
  • Complete your 3 hours of fun in the sun with a return transfer to the pier.
or

SJ47 - San Juan Family Beach Day $117

Play in the water, lounge in the shade and enjoy the warm Caribbean breeze on one of San Juan's best beaches.

On this adventure you will...

  • Meet your guide and board your air-conditioned transportation for the approximate 20-minute transfer to Isla Verde Beach. Upon arrival, Guests will be greeted with a complimentary beverage (non-alcoholic) and guided to the reserved beach area.
  • Lounge on your beach chair, relax in the sun, nap under your umbrella or swim in the sparkling waters of the Caribbean. Enjoy the sound of the Caribbean via recorded ocean-side music provided by the beach club.
  • Enjoy complimentary beach activities such as volleyball, tag football and body boards. Additional beach and water activities are available at an additional charge. The beach club hosts a variety of athletic courts for use based on availability—such as basketball, squash or volleyball.
  • Lunch buffet is served in the shade of the beach club bar and restaurant. Includes bottled water, soft drinks, orange juice or cranberry juice—additional beverages available at an additional cost.
  • After approximately 4 hours at the beach, board your air-conditioned transport back to the pier.

Both include beach chair and umbrella (it's under the more info on SJ32).The only difference APPEARS to be the second is a little longer?

Has anyone done either and can comment? Or both and can compare?

Thanks!

I haven't done either through Disney but the beach they are taking you to is nice. Odd that the family one seems to be the same exact beach, an hour longer, and costs $2 less. I'm pretty sure it is the beach in front of the Ritz.

Who did you use for the rainforest?

It was the DCL Rainforest and Waterfall. There were two guides because the group was so large. The other guide was amazing. I got stuck with the old guy who should have just been out looking at the same leaf by himself. Even the "group trailer" who worked for the company and whose job it was to go last was getting annoyed - and eventually he swapped places so we would have any time at the waterfall because the "primary" guy was stopping at every single version of the same leaf.

We're thinking of doing one of these also, probably the family one since it is longer. The first one says lunch is included in the price. The family one says lunch is served, does that mean it is included in the price or that you can get lunch, but have to pay extra for it? Has anyone done the Family one and if so did you have to pay extra for the lunch? Thanks
