We are flying in the night before our cruise any suggestions for a hotel. I would prefer one close to the airport because we have DCL transfers for the day the ship leaves.

The San Juan airport Hotel doesn't have any rooms left.

TIA

We stayed at the Embassy Suites in 10/14. It is less than 5 minutes from the Airport and it was pretty nice, it was even a just short walk to the beach.

We also stayed at the Embassy Suites back in 2013. We took a cab, and it was a quick ride. They have a nice pool, and the restaurant was Outback Steakhouse. There was also a small casino. In the morning we took the hotel shuttle to the port. I can't remember how long it took us to get there, but it was also a quick trip!

I think you'd have to take a taxi to get back to the airport. Why not just taxi straight to the port from the hotel? I'm sure it would be quicker and less expensive.

My parents just stayed at the Hyatt house and loved it. It's closer to the pier but in a nice area of San Juan. They had a free hot breakfast buffet. There's also the Sheraton old San Juan that is just across from where the cruise docks. Taking a Taxi to the hotel from the airport and then to the cruise dock is safe and less expensive than the Disney transfer.

We stayed at the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino which was about 5 miles from the airport and about 3 miles from the port. Very nice hotel and great ocean view rooms. Cabs are frequent and plentiful. The next morning the only traffic congestion could be on the bridge leading into old San Juan and the port. We didn't have any issues but our cab driver specifically mentioned it so we will keep that in mind for future travel planning.

The following are 5 minutes from SJU:
Embassy Suites
Hampton Inn
Ritz Carlton
El San Juan (Hilton)
Courtyard Isla Verde

The following are 5 minutes from the pier:
Caribe Hilton
Condado Plaza Hilton
Sheraton Convention Center
Hyatt House

The Sheraton Old San Juan is across from the old San Juan dock, in the Old San Juan area (very nice), not the Pan American dock. Usually the San Juan dock is where the cruises dock for the day, but I read here that Disney uses the Pan American for departures.

How did you get from the airport to the hotel?

We used a cab, there are very few, if any, hotels with free airport shuttles, (of all the ones we considered we did not find any with a free airport shuttle). We pre-booked a transfer from the hotel to the port, although it turned out to be unnecessary as there were always cabs waiting out in front of the hotel.
