San Francisco to Carmel/Monterey Road Trip-Help

Hello!

I'm hoping some of you California experts could help we winnow my road trip itinerary. We'd like to travel from S.F. to either Big Sur or Carmel/Monetery and stay for up to 4 nights total. We plan on the Aquarium in Monterey, but that's as far as we've gotten. We are going in July, during the weekdays. I'm would love help with places to see, eat and stay, plus any tips and tricks that would be helpful. It will be 3 adults. TIA!!

Point Lobos.
Cannery Row.
Fishermans Wharf.

You could stop in Half Moon Bay on the way there or back.
