I have a new co-worker who claims she and her XBF were paying $9,000 per month rent for a 1500 sq. ft. place(dunno if it was condo, house, etc.). While I'm sure the sky is the limit in SF, would this be a typical price? I'm just curious. :)

In some parts, totally normal. Especially the ridiculously affulent ones like Russian Hill or Pacific Heights.

I'll see what I can find on MLS for you... give me a minute :)

Ok... Pac Heights had 2 for $11,000 a month!! and 2 for $10,000 but most stuff seemed to be under $7,000 a month!

Still a TON of money for rent! Yikes!! :sad2:

That's insane. Some people have more money than brains.

I looked up my old apartment in Foster City (25 miles south) and my small 2/2 is renting for about $3000 a month. That's with no view and no updates for about 20 years.

I think the $9000 is on the very high end though. That probably includes parking (hard to get in the city), a great view, great neighborhood, and a totally updated unit.
