San Diego Resort/Hotel

Has anyone seen or stayed at Pacific terrace hotel? It sounds like it's right on the ocean on pacific beach. Is it by Paradise Point? Also my husband and I are going to be in the area for a long weekend, about 2 1/2 days. What should we not miss? I wanted to see DL but am not sure we sould drive up there, how long of a drive? We were just at WDW last month, but I love didney and have never been to DL. But should we do more sightseeing in San Diego? We like to do things outdooors. Any suggestions?

If you are looking for less expensive hotels and don't mind areas that can be a bit touristy take a look at hotels that are on Hotel Circle Drive (either north or south). Lots of good places that aren't fancy but very convenient to the attractions you've mentioned visiting. You might also check rates at the Bahia or Catamaran - they are resorts on Mission Bay that are nice and can have good deals depending on when you are going.

I was looking at the Bahia Resort Hotel, it looks very nice, does anyone have comments on it?

DH and I have stayed there more than once, the rooms were nice. They are very close to the Mission Beach theme park area, easy to get around. The restaurant was pretty good. There was a boat (like a riverboat) that went between it and the Catamaran. There was live music, dancing, it was a lot of fun. You are on Mission Bay, so if you rent boats you can cruise all over. I would stay there again without a second thought. It was actually nicer than Catamaran, and many people referred us there. They have standard type hotel rooms as well as family suites. I like being on the bay rather than the ocean as it is more calm.

:flower: thanks for the information, it is so tough trying to find just the right place when you have no way of seeing the hotels or knowing the areas.

Friends of ours stayed at the Doubletree Club on Hotel Circle last fall and they said it was quite nice without being real fancy. I looked around for prices there for our upcoming trip in October and found MUCH BETTER prices through http://www.doubletreeclubsd.com/offer.php than through any other source. They offer standard rooms as well as suites with a separate bedroom (we chose this as it helps so much with small kids). Just a thought in case it might work for you.

Anyone stay at Doubletree Club recently? Travelocity has 3 traveler reviews that are less than stellar. I was really interested in this hotel until I read those reviews.
