San Diego & DLR - Do I need a rental car?

I am planning a trip for our family of 4 to San Diego (SeaWorld, Legoland, local beach) and then we are going to head to Disneyland.

I read that a few hotels have shuttles to SeaWorld. Are there also shuttles to Legoland?

If we can get shuttles to the parks in San Diego, is there a shuttle to the Anaheim hotels that we could take and therefore, not have to get a rental car?

We are Disneyland AP holders and we live in San Diego. To be quite honest, I would not depend on shuttles in San Diego or Anaheim. Many of the DL area hotels do not provide free shuttles, there is a shared shuttle service for a fee. Especially if you want to head to the beach, I would rent a car. JMHO.

I think that's a wise choice, especially for the beach.

The last thing I want to do when I've got sand all over me and in my clothes is wait for a bus!
