We're going to S. CA in late June or early July with a 4 yo and a 7 yo, does this plan look reasonable? I want enough time to take breaks and not feel rushed.

Sat: Arrive in SD mid-morning, check into hotel (Hotel Circle area) and head to Coronado beach for the afternoon
Sun: Sea World or Zoo
Mon: Legoland
Tues: San Diego Zoo or Sea World
Wed: Check out of hotel, USS Midway in the morning then head up to Anaheim stopping in a beach town for lunch, check into hotel close to DL, swimming at hotel if we're there early enough
Thurs: DL
Fri: DL
Sat: Possibly stay in Anaheim Fri night or head out to the coast on Fri night, spend a beach day on Sat
Sun: Return home

I posted this on the S CA theme park board before realizing it's pretty slow. Hopefully it's ok for me to post here as well.

Since Carsland is opening mid-June, Disneyland will be jam-packed and I would allow more than two days.

If you can only go for two days, just pick and choose the highlights. I would also schedule the beach day between the two days at DLR so the kids and you have a chance to unwind and relax. I notice you avoided weekends at DLR -- good plan.

I live in San Diego. You can do two things down here in one day (Zoo & Midway for instance) and give yourself an extra day at DL. I usually don't spend the whole day at Seaworld either but that's just me. I suggest you do a bus tour at the zoo which gives you an overall view of the place, then hit your favorite animals after. Some people will tell you to spend ALL your time in Disneyland but I won't. I love my city and it is beautiful. Your plan sounds good to me. Not to crazy.

We were in San Diego in December and did three days in a row, WAP (Safari park), Legoland, and Zoo. We (me, my mom and DS 5 and DD 7) were exhausted at the end of it all. As Molly and others have mentioned the Zoo is HILLY and HOT, it was in the high 80's in December. We hopped on the bus and sat up top and just circled around. I would have been theme-parked out if I knew 2 or 3 days at DL was still ahead of me, but that is just me.

You have a lot scheduled into your vacation, but you know your family best. If you think everyone will rally for Disneyland, great! Go for it while you are so close. We are going back to San Diego in June just to visit family and I just tacked on two days at DL on the way home, so I get being so close and just having to visit!!

We are doing Disneyland/SD this summer too.

Right now, our plan is 3-4 days at Disney (keeps changing) then Legoland, USS midway/beach, SD Zoo, Seaworld, WAP for 1/2-3/4 of a day then drive back to the bay area that evening (yep, that's going to be a long day!)

Your plan sounds pretty good to me. We are planning on getting to the hotel early on the zoo day (and maybe Seaworld too) and relaxing some. Once we get to the Bay Area we have a week to relax with family before flying home.
