San Antonio Dis'ers Help!

As you can see by my countdown, I am going to be in San Antonio this weekend for the Drum Corp show at the Alamodome. We have rooms at the Holiday Inn Express right by the dome. Since our flight gets in early on Friday, we thought we'd grab a movie (Cars/Pirates). Is there a theater anywhere near the area? We will be renting a car.

Also, any suggestions for a QUICK dinner near the dome on Saturday? We have a 2 hour intermission between the afternoon and evening shows. Is there anything decent within walking distance?

There's an IMAX theater at Rivercenter Mall which is across the highway from the Alamodome. You'll be in the downtown area so there's plenty to choose from as far as restaurants go. What kind of food were you looking for?

I was going to suggest the Rivercenter Mall, too. If it's your first time in San Antonio, you should definitely eat on the riverwalk.

There's a restaurant guide on the left side and it lists all the places at the Riverwalk. Plenty to choose from. Have fun!

You are perfectly located for dining. Your biggest problem will be narrowing it down. Have fun!

As far as eating..You will be fine. Downtown is FULL of places to eat.

The movies..Since you have a rental car I think the easiest for you to get to would be the Quarry. From your hotel go north on 281. Exit Basse Rd. You most likely would have passed the Quarry on your way to the hotel from the airport. It would have been the big shopping complex with the smoke stacks. is that what they are called??LOL
Very easy to get to from your location and not too far.

Thanks, everyone, so much for your help! I really appreciate it! This is my first time in Texas, and being from Michigan, I wanted to try something different for dinner! I guess we lucked out on our location.

I definitely recommend Casa Rio at the Riverwalk for some yummy (and relatively cheap) eats You can't miss it (the restaurants with all the colorful umbrellas outside.) If you walk straight down the river from the Riverwalk Mall it is straight ahead whee the river goes left/right.
