San Angel Inn?

I ate there during my trip March 10 - 13 and had the Puntas de Filete en Salsa Guajillo. The meal was very good and I love the atmosphere. There is nothing like relaxing with a basket of chips and salsa by the river after walking around the park all day. I always leave San Angel full and refreshed. :cool2:

Thanks! I was looking at the Beef Tenderloin, or the mahi mahi, it always looks good, and we always say oh we need to try there, just never have, now we must!!

I went August of 2009 for my birthday. I can say the atmosphere was amazing! and the food was so so. I would suggest if you have children to not bring them here. the food is not something most kids will like. It is not typical mexican food. It was good don't get me wrong, but i have had better!

My DD just yesterday said that she would love to try this place out for our September trip. I am a little skeptical because even though she loves mexican food (tacos and enchiladas), I am not sure how she is going to react to the authentic mexican food. Also, my DD6 is a very picky eater so I am going to have to think this through before booking.

Ate there in March 09 and it was wonderful.
Love the atmosphere (can't be beat in my opinion) and the food was very good.

I love the atmosphere. It is very dark though. I'm a picky eater and the food was very authentic Mexican food (which, for me, is not a good thing). They were able to make me tacos though (not on the regular menu). I was hoping for a good burrito, but it's not on the menu.

Tortilla soup was good. I'd go back again although my family didn't like it.

I really do like San Angel Inn. The food is not unbelievable, but it's quite yummy and I love eating by the lake. Also, if you grab a margarita from the stand with your meal, makes it even better! :cool1:

The San Angel Inn is one of our favorites -- we go once every trip! The atmosphere is amazing and we both order the Mahi Mahi... I think it is really good!

We are booked there again for September ... 3rd year in a row. Agree with what everyone else says:

Atmosphere is unbelieveable !
Food is so-so
Food is not the "Mexican" food we Americans are used to
Love the chips and salsa

What I have come to like at WDW are the restaurants that offer the atmosphere, because I really find that the food is pretty standard at most places ... steak, chicken, fish. I know people can argue with that, but I make my choices based on the restaurant atmosphere rather than the menu! Hence, San Angel Inn is on my list!!

I'll echo everyone else's thoughts. We like the restaurant a lot. The food is OK but the atmosphere is just lovely.

Me and DW love it, but my 11 year old DD does not like the food. She is not that picky, but for some reason does not like it. But like others have said, great atmosphere.

Everyone has me sold. We have been to disney 10 times and haven't tried San Angel. I think this year we will! I do like the inside of the building too.

We ate there just last week and really liked the food. The atmosphere was really nice too. I just thought the portion sizes were really small for what we paid for it. Maybe that's because we were there for lunch. :confused3 I would go back though, but only if on the dining plan.

Btw, my DS does not like Mexican food and they had chicken strips on the kids menu with rice and veggies. He really liked his meal.

We eat there every trip and really enjoy it for Lunch.......food is good...not great.....price is a bit steep but everything is expensive at Disney. Pay for the atmosphere which is wonderful:):goodvibes

Agreed!

Definetly the best atmosphere I think of all the places, except tables are a bit close. But absolutly beautful, esp if you get a spot by the volcano!

The food is okay, not great, but not bad.
I got the chicken and the sauce that they use in it is so good..
And I can't remember what I got the other time.

But I would go if I was you :goodvibes

Is it family friendly? Our kids are pretty cheerful eaters, and are used to ethnic cuisines, so I"m not worried about the food. Rather, is it a place grown ups go to have a romantic dinner, and they'll cringe when we walk in with our little ones?

I ate there in the early 1990's, on a trip with college friends, and I still remember how delicious the Queso Fundido was.
