San Angel Inn

Warning some photos may not show food as presented. The Mahi Mahi, the soup and the salad are not half eaten. I do not eat peppers and cooked peppers, they are like snot. So I picked them out. Therefore dismantling the dishes. On the salad you can see the fork has not been used. You can see the pieces of fish that I broke off on the left. The soup and the combo plate my DP had, were presented to her as photographed.
Part of the problem with San Angel Inn is, it is not operated by Disney. The space is leased to an outside foodservice company. The same one the operates The Pepper Market and Cafe Rix's at CSR. That being said, I wouldn't rank it high, nor on the bottom of my list- that is Gak & Yucky position (opps I meant Yak& Yeti).

The service was horrible the last time I was there (June 08). But the food was OK and the Sangria OK.

I had the Salad (Ensalada de la Casa - Selected mixed greens, house dressing ), the Mahi Mahi (Mahi-Mahi a la Veracruzana - Grilled fillet of mahi-mahi, prepared with capers, olives, Spanish onions and tomatoes, seasoned with white wine and spices, served with white rice ) and flan (Flan de Vanilla - vanilla custard in syrup, topped with roasted almonds ).
Click on photos to enlarge them.

My DP had the Tortilla Soup (Sopa Azteca -Traditional tortilla soup with avocado, cheese and pasilla pepper ), the Cozumel Combo (Combinacion Cozumel - Grilled beef tenderloin, marinated shrimp and roasted chayote served with spicy ranchero sauce, poblano pepper mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables ), and bread pudding (Capirotada de Chocolate Blanco - white chocolate and golden raisin bread pudding served with Mexican milk caramel). We shared a pitcher of Sangria.

The menu appears to still be the same as the one on AllEars. On the Combo plate I was very dissappointed with the mixed veggies. They were NOT fresh. They were typical frozen veggies with little or non descript flavor.

Well that explains why we liked it so much because we love the Pepper Market!
