San Angel Inn

We really like San Angel. The food is pretty standard Mexican, but the atmosphere is worth the price of admission.

We go here every trip, the kids love it and we know that everyone will find something they like.

Enjoy!

As far as food quality goes, I guess it depends on what the standard Mexican restaurants are like in your area. Around here, standard Mexican means Tex Mex restaurant chains - Don Pablo's, On the Border, stuff like that. San Angel Inn is nothing like those. We thought the food was pretty good. Our main problem was the service, which was rather slow and not very attentive.

The main draw at San Angel Inn is the theming, which is wonderful.

We like San Angel Inn, the atmosphere is the best, although it is very crowded and the tables are close together. We thought the food was pretty good. DH is a chef, and he's from Mexico, so he's pretty picky, and even he liked it and thought it was very authentic. My recommendation is to stay away from the boring stuff like tacos and burritos (which didn't get very good reviews from the rest of the family) and try something you normally wouldn't.

Its not Mexican in the sense that most of us think of as Mexican. Like a previous poster said it isn't an On the Border, Don Pablo's or anything like that. It is authentic Mexican.

We like it very much and the atmosphere is great!
