San Angel Inn vegetarian options

Have any vegetarians out there sampled the Plato Combinacion or the salad at San Angel Inn? I was discouraged to learn that there are only two options for vegetarians at this restaurant, as you can find many more in other Mexican restaurants.

However, I love the atmosphere of this place and my brother (who I'll be touring the World with in May) also loves Mexican food, so I was wondering if any other vegetarians have tried the Plato Combinacion and enjoyed it.

Alternatively, how easy was it for you to make vegetarian requests in advance? I've never made reservations at any Disney restaurant (first time planning on my own) and even though the option to make special dietary requests is there, I'm not sure how painful the process is. My 90-day mark is this Wednesday!

Hi! I have ordered the vegetarian platter several times now and it not only delicious but more economical than the other reg. dinner platters. I am not a vegan per say but tend to eat more vegetarian due to my Weight Watchers diet. You do not have to order ahead special. When you are seated at your table just ask them to bring you the vegetarian menu.

I had the combo plate which was very, very good. It was a lot of food for the price you pay. You don't need to order in advance since they have it on their vegetarian menu. I called the restaurants I'd be eating at and was told that isn't necessary anywhere to call ahead for vegetarian requests and that you can be accommodated at most places.

Thank you both so much! I was originally not going to make ADRs for San Angel Inn because I thought there was only the salad option, but I think my brother and I will both be happy with lunch there now! It's also good to know that most restaurants will accommodate vegetarians without prior notice.

By the way, I'm doing Weight Watchers, too! I'm hoping I can stay within my points to some extent!

I had a vegan friend travel with us last year and she had no trouble ordering vegan on the spot anywhere. Just a comment - San Angel's menu is very limited overall, not just for vegetarians. It felt like the most limited menu in WDW when we dined there last month. It even felt like the Plaza had more choices!

That's pretty sad. There are so many ways to mix up Mexican food!
