Hubby and I are on a budget, trying not to spend too much, but thought we'd splurge a little on our trip to Epcot today. We arrived at the park around 11am, and while he went off to ride Mission Space, I called to see if there were any open lunch times. Le Cellier and Marakkesh Morocco were out, so I asked the rep what else was open. She mentioned San Angel, so that's where we went.
2pm reservation, and we were a couple of minutes late, due to the walk and having trouble finding it. Duh, it was in the big temple.
We showed up, got a pager, and waited maybe 3 minutes. We were seated and brought warm chips and salsa. The chips were a little tough, but we were starved.
Hubby had the Chef Special Mahi Mahi Verracruzano. Grilled fish in a tomato type sauce with olives, and a side of rice. I sampled, and it was very good. The sauce was very tasty. Not too spicy, not bland at all.
I ate the Sirloin Asada with Chilaqueras (sp?). Good sized sirloin steak, that was VERY tender and not chewy at all. The other item was corn tortillas grilled with green tomatillo sauce, cheese, and sour cream. Delicious! There was also a side of Mexican rice and refried black beans. Yum!!
Service: Excellent! Took a few minutes to get our order taken, but after that, wonderful. I didn't even see our server go by, and before I knew it, we had refills on our drinks. The food came out quickly and everything went smoothly.
Price: Average for a nice Mexican restaurant, especially in a park like that. With tip, it was $48 for hubby and I. Two lunch entrees, 1 soda, 1 water.
