San Angel Inn refurbishment?

When making my ADRs this morning, the CM told me San Angel Inn would be closed for refurbishment for mid-June. I didn't question her, but I didn't remember reading anything about it. Anyone heard about this?

I was told the same thing when I called yesterday to make my dining reservations. I'm so dissappointed its one of our favorites.

I saw it on AllEars.net the other day: "San Angel Inn, (Epcot's Mexico) will be closed for renovation beginning May 10, 2009. No other details are available at this time." It was in the Feb 09 news: http://allears.net/din/restnews.htm .

All I've seen was on allears about it going down for refurb May 11th (I think) with no other information... and now hearing reports from people trying to get ADRs... latest ADR I've heard of someone trying for was June 20th - still unavailable.

I believe that is part of it. I've heard they are expanding the dining area and I'm sure the menu will be changed a little.

We are hoping to eat there in Dec. Has anyone gotten any word from Disney as to when it will re-open? I thought about calling dining but I am not sure if the CM will be able to tell me.

We are going in Dec. and really want to eat there so the curiosity is killing me. I called dining today and asked a CM if she knew when it would re-open and she repeated "no further information at this time". And that was that.

I wish some disney insider had some info.... I guess for now I will have to keep my fingers crossed!

I just hope that they don't do away w/ my favorite soup called Sopa Azteca.........awesome stuff!

I'll be vacation just before they close it down for refurb so I'm lucky but I think this will be a needed improvement and also hopefully they will add that much aclaimed tequila/tapas bar!

We were able to book it for May 10th...I guess the refurb got pushed out further

I have a reservation for July 21st. When I called, the CM I spoke to said that they were closing for lunch so that they could do the refurb.
