Hellooooo Disers!:wizard:

Next month I make my ADR's and have decided that I'm definetly going to try for V&A's and Artist Point (we're staying at the WL and I was thinking we could eat here the first night and then go and catch Wishes at the MK) I think I might make an ADR at Raglan Road for lunch one day but I was looking for a third dinner reservation that would be fun.:yay:

What do you guys think of San Angel Inn....I've seen pictures of the inside but is the food good? I'm not looking for five star Mexican food but I would like the food to be decent if we choose to eat there. The other thing I was thinking of instead of San Angel Inn would be Spoodles or the Flying Fish.....my thought process on this was that it would be nice to eat dinner and then stroll the Boardwalk....~*sigh*~ I just don't want to micro-manage this vacation because it's mine and the husbands first adult trip to Disney (the husbands first trip in general) and we're very much "fly by the seat of your pants" kind of people:upsidedow

Any advice would be awesome!!! Thanks in advance!

My first post!!

We ate at San Angel Inn in December. After they fixed a seating issue, we got a great table near the water. The food was very enjoyable. We have made reservations for Spoodles when we go in June. I have heard great things about that restuarant. We are doing the dining plan (we love to eat and wouldn't spend the money otherwise), so Flying Fish would be 2 full service credits, so we stayed away from it.

are good but for different reasons.

San Angel is a nice atmosphere (altho a bit tight) but I don't think the food is all that great.

I would definitely visit the Boardwalk area. Spoodles is good, but more family and casual than Flying Fish. FF is really, really good food with a more adult atmosphere. If money isn't an issue and you want good food (and since you are kidless this time) I'd go with Flying Fish.

But that's just me. ;)

Flying Fish by all means!!!!!!! Excellent food. Spoodles is very good but not in the same class as FF and San Angel can't compare.

FF has it all over Spoodles, which in turn has it all over San Angel Inn.

I agree with OKWlover,

1. FF
2. Spoodles
3. San Angel Inn

You've asked about 3 VASTLY different places.

Here is my suggestions...

DO Flying Fish for dinner....

Do San Angel for LUNCH....it is a GREAT place to get out of the sun on a hot steamy day.

Skip Spoodles.....maybe pick up a slice of pizza from their take out window as you are walking arounf the boardwalk!

Flyin Fish cafe for Dinner- it is a wonderful place!

I agree with Mr. Disney San Angel Inn would be a nice place for lunch. Nice scenery and cool getaway.

I have not doe Flying Fish but really like both San Angel and Spoodles. Spoodles is amazing and our fav food at WDW but the atmosphere is nothing special. San Angel is nothing amazing but is good and as you probabally have already seen the atmosphere is awsome.

No contest--Flying Fish. Spoodles and San Angel are Junior Woodchucks compared to FF.

Never ate at the Flying Fish, but as for the other two...

San Angel Inn - food was average and expensive and we don't drink, however the atmosphere is really neat

Spoodles - food was pretty good and prices weren't as bad, plus you're on the Boardwalk and can go to Jellyrolls which would be worth the trip to the Boardwalk alone!

Have a Magical Trip

All 3 are very different...

Flying Fish for the best food! (but pricy)
San Angel Inn for the wonderful atmosphere!
Spoodles only if all else fails.

I am a Spoodles girl.......I have been to both San Angel and Flying Fish...San Angel, as far as I am concerned, is not good. Flying Fish, I had a bad experience there and have not gone back. My DH is one of these types... bad experience, he does not go back, I would give them a second chance, but not him. It had to do with alcohol and our not drinking and never seeing the server again after we told her we did not drink, and then our meal was not cooked properly. Finally a manager was called in, he was a bit snippy and that was the end of Flying Fish for us. I have heard that the present Manager is wonderful so maybe we should give them a second chance..if only DH would give in.

Anyway Spoodles gets my vote.

We haven't been to the other 2, but both of them have to be better than SAI ! We were there in Aug, and it will be a while (if ever) before we go back. Very close seating, very loud (as many Disney restaurants are, but more so), very dark (we were looking for a flashlight to read the menu !) Food was fair at best. Atmosphere was , for us, the only redeeming thing. We were there for dinner with ADRs (myself, DW,DS 16, DD 11). We all agree- anywhere would be better. good luck !! :thumbsup2

No contest--Flying Fish. Spoodles and San Angel are Junior Woodchucks compared to FF.

Ok, this is driving me nuts. What were Junior Woodchucks? It's tickling my memory. Howdy Doody?

Anyway, I agree with Uncleromulus. We also enjoy Spoodles and used to have lunch at San Angel every trip. But Flying Fish is in another league.

We like att three also, again for different reasons. Hmmmmm. Do all three? Sorry, I can't decide here. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice guys!

I think I might try for Flying Fish. I totally didn't realize that Flying Fish was a signature dining experience until MisterDisney pointed out that they were all totally different places (you can sense my dilema as well as my indescisive nature, can't you?! ) We're going during the Food and Wine Festival so I might just get my Mexican food fix there and skip San Angel Inn all together. I like dim lighting but I also like to see my food when I'm eating :3dglasses Mackey Mouse, my husband is the SAME exact way! "Second Chances", when it comes to restaurants, is not an option in his rule book! :snooty: I suppose I can't blame him. If they have a new manager at the Flying Fish than its worth a shot. I just have to remember that no matter where we eat and when we eat, the trip is going to be awesome either way. Thanks again guys!
