San Angel Inn or Big River Grille?

We ate at Big River Grille on our last trip and enjoyed the food and outside atmosphere and planned to eat there again. It wasn't on the DDP though so we made an ADR for the San Angel Inn instead. I just checked and saw that Big River Grille has been added to the dining plan. I can't do both. Do I keep my ADR at San Angel or cancel it and go to Big River? I have never eaten at San Angel Inn BTW. I have heard alot of mixed reviews about it. Most seem to say it's just so so. Any help is sure appreciated!

Never tried Big River. But SAI was one of the worst service experiences we've evr had, and I'm not talking just WDW.

I think San Angel Inn's atmosphere is much better and since you've already tried Big River Grille, why not try a new place? I want to try everywhere at least once.

WE did not like SAI also very lame mexican food and not the best service. We are from Texas so there is TEX-Mex rest. all over.

Have you checked out the menus that are posted on AllEars? If you find the menu appealing, I would go with San Angel. We have never had any problems with the food or service, but I always make sure not to book during typical rush times.

I also think San Angel that it is a better value for lunch. It is always so dark inside the pavilion that it almost feels like you are having dinner, but you get lunch prices.

Last, my opinion may be skewed a bit because I go to Gordon Biersch and Rock Bottom quite a bit. That makes Big River not seem like a vacation choice to me since it is owned by GB and shows quite a few characteristics of its parent.

We have always enjoyed our dinners at San Angel Inn. Perhaps if you choose Big River and still would like Mexican, you could try the cantina for lunch....it is very good!:)

If anyone MADE me go to one of these two spots, I guess I'd prefer BRG. At least they have some good beer (if you can get your server to bring you one).

Thanks for all the input. After talking it over with the other people I'm going with it looks like we will do BRG. We have a couple people with some issues on what they can eat so they were a little leary of having Mexican food anyway. So that clinched it. Maybe we will try SAI another trip. Thanks!!

I would have to say San Angel Inn. I mean you already tried Big River why not try something new? Plus San Angel Inn is BEAUTIFUL and has excellent food. :goodvibes

Gotta congratulate you on the choice...you would've likely regretted SAI...they are consistently the worst restaurant on disney property (IMHO)...I love to eat my way around the pond & the parks, and SAI just seems to consistently have bad serice and lousy food...which is too bad b/c I've always loved the setting (even though they keep making it darker there so you can't see your food or the lousy revamp to El Rio Del Tiempo which has now been stripped of all sense of culture and replaced with the 3 amigos)...

Anything but San Angel Inn .... Anything!
