we've eaten at mexico once before, back when i was 8 or 9 (and then, of course, i was mad because the food didn't taste like taco bell :lmao:), but now we have dinner reservations for our upcoming trip this summer. we're really looking forward to it, but i know some people who aren't fans, but we all love mexican food and think it'll be really good. i'm worried about my aunt, though, who's a very, very picky eater (just to get an idea- she won't even eat ravioli that is "green colored," because it reminds her too much of vegetables, which most she hates ). we looked at the menus on wdwinfo.com, and she said she saw a few things she would be fine eating. do you think she'll be ok? we've been to all the countries at least once (we know le cellier is the best!), but we want to try mexico again... sound good??

We love San Angel Inn.

That said, you have to know that it isn't normal Tex Mex style food that we Americans are use to...but I think you know that.

So if your aunt has looked at the menu and has a couple different things that interest her, then you should be ok.

It is a wonderful restaurant, the best atmosphere in all of WDW in my opinion...but if you don't like the dishes then it isn't for you.

I say go for it...with the understanding she is willing.

Have a good trip!

Our meal there was horrific. My salad had little to no taste...everything from the meat to the cactus had the same flavor and texture. Even the kid's food didn't resemble anything edible. They didn't drain the noodles, so the chicken finger and noodles were swimming in spaghetti water. It was so crowded that our waitress had to run a maze pattern to make it to and from our table. My advice would be go elsewhere.

We ate there in October and it was easily the best dinner we had of the entire week. We were on the DxDP and we ate alot!!! I would say it is a must do!!!

thanks for the replies! we're going to keep the reservations- i even talked to my dad and he said not to worry about it if my aunt ends up not liking it. i guess i just always try to make sure everyone's happy- especially at the happiest place on earth!

to those who have eaten there recently: what was your favorite thing you ate? did you get appetizers/starters? what really stood out, food wise? thanks!

If your aunt examined the menu and says there are acceptable menu items, you probably have nothing to worry about. Disney excels at accommodating picky eaters. I suspect your aunt will have a nice meal at San Angel Inn.

We ate at San Angel for the 1st time back in Dec. 2008. We were so happily surprised at how great the food was. My husband and I are both kinda picky eaters and wound up ordering the samething and we were both sooooo happy with it. Granted we were eating there during lunch time so the menu is a little different. I wouldn't worry if your Aunt doesn't like it. It's only one meal that she might not be happy with right lol. Good luck and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. :)

I agree that if your aunt already saw the menu and saw a few dishes on there that she probably wouldn't mind then you should be good to go.
We loved it there on our honeymoon a few years ago.

When we went at Easter we decided to ignore all the negative comments on here and try it - WOW we loved it. The food was so fresh and yummy. OUr very picky eater (DS 8) even loved it.

Enjoy - it is so pretty and relaxing.
