San Angel Inn and Cantina de San Angel

I was thinking of making lunch reservations at the San Angel Inn, but last year we went to Cantina de San Angel, the counter service across the way, and we did not like it at all. The chicken had grisle in it and it did not have much flavor. This is the only place in Disney that we didn't like the food. We are very easy to please normally. I'm wondering if they have the same supplyers and chefs? I love Mexican food. I mainly want to go to the San Angel Inn for the atmosphere, but would like the food to be good too. Has anyone tried both and compared?

I'm not a fan of Mexican food - at all - but I've never been disappointed in the quality of food at San Angel. I usually order the ceviche for an appetizer and the camarones con fideos, and I've always enjoyed both. Not to mention the atmosphere is nice in there. I wouldn't write off San Angel completely based on your experience at the Cantina.

we have eaten twice at San Angel inn and we have enjoyed the food both times. it wasnt anything that was along the lines of awesome but it was good nonetheless. when my Dw and DS#2 enjoy the food, both are very picky eaters, i can say it is good. the service was excellent also but i think that what really makes this place is the atmosphere.

The food isn't comparable AT ALL. Don't worry! We HATED the Cantina and will never eat there again - yuck. The food at SAI was some of the best of our trip - now the service was another story....

We eat at the Cantina every trip and love the food (Taco Bellish) and the portions, but San Angel Inn is very different. Don't expect tex-mex at San Angel Inn, there is a lot of seafood and what I would consider more true Mexican food there. It was very good and the atmosphere is worth it. Give it a try!
