A couple of questions- are the tables better spaced as a result of COVID?
Will they allow you to wait for a waterside table to enjoy the view? Any tips for success with this? We are a party of 3.

SAI is one of my fav restaurants in WS, I love everything about it, the interior, the ambiance, and the food has always been solid :lovestruc DD and I ate dinner there on December 23rd at 5:30 and waited about 25 minutes past our ADR time to be seated. We could have asked for a waterside table but we were getting hangry and didn't want to wait any longer. Our table was one over from the water and the restaurant was really busy with every table full. Table spacing has never been a big concern for me since this pandemic started but if it is a concern, the San Angel Inn tables seemed to not be as well spaced as all of the other restaurants we ate at that week. I guess it's just because the dining area is a tightly packed enclosed space to begin with and they can only take out/ push apart so many tables in the space they have. We had folks walking right up next to our table on all 4 sides while we were eating. If you have the time, I'd wait for a waterside table, then you won't be out in the open on all 4 sides like we were. Enjoy your trip and I hope you get a great table at SAI.
