My son Sam has been granted a wish to go to WDW in June. Our family includes myself and my husband, DD#1 is 15, DD#2 is 12, DD#3 is 10 and Sam is 8. We used to live near WDW, so have made a few day trips there, but never a planned vacation. I would like to do a character meal, but I am not sure where to even start on that. Also, I am just a little worried to "plan" anything. Sam has epilepsy and things go minute to minute in our lives because we never know when he is going to have a seizure. Do you pay for the meals in advance??? If you can't make it, are you charged anyway?
I am really not a planner, so any advice would be great!
Thanks,
Mary Anne

Mary Anne,

Congratulations to Sam and to you all. Please post on the Wish Trippers Unite 2 link in my signature, to conncect will all sorts of past and future WDW Wish Trip families, and read my link for Wish Trip Planning Tips.

Character meals vary in how hard it is to get reservations. Cinderella's Royal Table is the hardest. Some meals do require advance payment on a credit card, though not all. The Grand Floridian dinner with Cinderella did not at the time we were planning our trip. The Castle was booked way in advance, but Guest Services managed to get us in anyway on the day we were at MK.

Sam might like a meal with Mickey or a super hero from Universal (if you are going there). Will you be staying at Give Kids the World Village or a Disney Resort?

Some character meals I am aware of are at The Castle, Crystal Palace, Grand Floridian and Contemporary.
