Sam's Club is great. They have great stuff - but I can't stand how it smells in there! :p

I don't know if it's only the Sam's Club near us, but the place has a distinctly gross odor. Always has. I get nauseous in there.

Am I loony, or does anyone else think Sam's smells smelly? :confused3 ;)

The Sam's near me doesn't have any distinct odor, but I do know what youre talking about! The Albertson's that used to be up the road from me used to have a terrible, nauseating smell. To me it smelled like mass amounts of something sweet rotting. :crazy2:

DD hated going in there when she was little. Once when she was about 4 or 5, she said loudly, "It always stinks so bad in here, why can't we shop at Publix?" Of course a manager heard her. The manager kindly asked DD what it smelled like to which DD immediately replied, "Old people."

Does it have a fresh meat market in there. All the stores down here have them. The stink so bad. I remember when I was pregnant with my ds. Dh took me into on of the worst smelling stores. I walked inside and turn around walked right out and proceded to throw up on the side walk.

I need went back to that store again!!

YUCK

YES!!!!!! I said it to my DH and he thinks I am crazy... I noticed first when I was preggios 9 yrs ago and I smell it everytime. I don't like shopping there. It is a combo of tires and raspberry jelly :confused3

Not Sam's here, but the local A&P. It stinks just as you walk in the door, in that little "airlock" section. Once you get through the second door into the store it's fine. I wish they'd figure out what it is, I try to remember to take a deep breath before I go in and don't exhale till I get through the second door :rotfl2: .

I think it's because they sell tires there
BUT BJ's sells tires too and that place only smells by the tires, and it smells like just tires. Sam's does smell funny everywhere, and I don't know what the smell is.

It's a mind-altering drug, causing you to load your cart with way more crap than you went in for . . . honey pretzel twists . . . salsa cheese. . . DVDs. . . CDs . . .aloha shirts . . . a crate of mangoes . . . :rotfl2:

I've never noticed a strange smell in ours. :confused3

Hmmm...I've never noticed a strange smell in ours, but I will give it the ol' smell test tomorrow since I have to go get a few things.

Our Sam's has no odor that I've noticed. However, our close by Albertson's did until recently. It was kind of a funky, old meat smell. They seem to have new managers now though and the odor was gone this past week when I stopped!

I've never noticed it, but one store that has a smell I can't stand is Old Navy. I hate the way that store smells, it's just plain ick.

Never noticed a smell in Sam' club....BUT since i was a kid (40 years ago) I CANNOT enter a K-mart without having breathing problems. The only time in my life I ever feel this!

I agree it's partly the tires, but usually I like the smell of new tires, this is tires and something else too - maybe the raspberry jelly thing was right. ;)

I notice a smell in those warehouse stores, and it is very similar to the smell in K-Mart. I think it has to do with the hot dogs and junk that they sell in those places. Both K-Mart and Sam's/BJ's smell awfully funky!
