Same Room, Different Guest Arrival Times...How Does It Work?

Our 2nd Trip, First Time On-Site, is fast approaching and I am soooo...excited. Just starting to think about all of the LITTLE details (as opposed to some of the BIG ones that are now solidified-BOG Ressies, etc...) and have some questions.

1)How are shared reservations with different guest check-in times handled? My mom will be coming in from Oregon and arriving at 10:00 a.m. and my DD & I will be coming in at 1:00 p.m. We have Free Dinning and I want to make sure that my mom will be able to start using her credits when she arrives as she will be tired an hungry from a looong night/day of traveling. So, even though the whole party will not be there, will they be activated?

2) Also, is there a way to increase the chances of her being able to check into the room before 3:00 p.m. If we do on-line check-in can we request it? Again, will my dd and us not being there til later affect that?

3)What happens with our bags form the DME? Did I read correctly that they will eventually magically show up in our room? If we cannot get into our room early, we may just head to a park and then to dinner reservations and not be back til late. In that instance, if we can somehow just get our bags brought to our room, that'd be great! :thumbsup2

Sorry, for so many questions, but seems like everyday I think of some other detail I need to know about.

Any Help Is Appreciated!

(1)Your mom should be able to start using her credits right away. There is a rule about everyone being there at check in, but it is rarely enforced. She should be fine.

(2)I don't think there is any way to speed up check-in except to be flexible. If you have too many requests you may have to wait for your room.

(3)IIRC, DME delivery depends on your level of stay. I *think* that if you're at a moderate or value resort your bags are just dropped off at your room even if you are not there. If you are at a Deluxe resort I think you have to call down for them to be delivered.

if she is on the reservation she will have a KTTW card soon as room is ready so she can go in but if her name is not on the reservation then she will not be able to get into the room. ME will deliver to the room as soon as one assigned to you or it stays in bell services until you have a room

Thank You Fellow Wisconsinite Robinb!! :)That info helps a lot.

Can anyone else confirm about the bag drop-off proccess?

We stayed at Animal Kingdom last year and our bags were automatically brought to our room a couple of hours after we checked in.

On one of our last trips, my mom flew in after we had already arrived. She was on the reservation from the beginning. My sons and I checked in and went on to Epcot. When she arrived, it was no problem for her to use ME from the airport, check in, (not really even 'check in' since I already had) get a key and tix and meet us at Epcot. There should be no problem with your mom using her dining credits or ticket on her KTTW card.

We usually stay deluxe at Poly, BC, and BWI. Our bags have always been brought to the room without us being there.
