Same Question. Different Day. Weather Underground Related.

ACK! This is driving me nuts!! I use Weather Underground for my thunderstorm info. I've never had a problem with it until yesterday. I can't access their site no matter how I try to do it.

I used my shortcut. NO! I tried just typing in their web address. NO! I tried getting in through other sites that have it listed. NO! I also cleared my cookies and temp files. Still NO!

When I posted this yesterday there was one other person who said they were also having problems but everyone else was getting in OK. What the heck?

This is the only site I can't get into. Oh, I'm using IE if that matters. Please any thoughts on what to do would be most appreciated.

Roberta, try to access www.photobucket.com. Several here on the DIS can not and it has been stated it is a regional server problem somewhere in the country, affecting access to sites (not PB's server probelm, but an outside something or other). If you can not access PB, it might be a related probelm. Just a thought.

Yep---I haven't been able to get to Photobucket since yesterday, along with a few other sites. I use RoadRunner, and they're claiming they're having trouble connecting to sites hosted by Cogent? Whatever the deal is, it's getting rather annoying!

Holy cow! You guys are awesome. That's gotta be it. Nope, no photobucket for me either.

Well that's a relief. Maybe I'll give RR a call and ask them when this is going to be corrected.

Thank you for posting those links. How utterly irritating this is---we're calling RR to complain right now, in hopes that if enough people register complaints, they might stop acting like children & get it fixed. Otherwise, I'm switching ISPs!

Oh good grief. I just called Road Runner and actually got through to the main office by way of using Brighthouse. Anyway, I was talking to a CS person and he said a lot of people had called. I said well I understand this is about money and he had no idea what was causing all the calls.

I gave him the URL of one of the sites listed in this thread and he was most grateful.

So, yeah, if you're part of this mess, please call. I never did get the corporate phone number but you probably can either get transferred directly or get the number through your local provider.

BTW, he felt that because of the call volume, the problem may be solved in a few days.
