Trying to help friends who will be staying offsite and visiting one park sometime next week. They will purchase their tickets at the gate.

In order to use fastpasses, what will they need to do? Have an online WDW account? My Disney Experience? Then link tickets after purchase to book fastpasses?

Any quick, easy information to share with them is much appreciated!

That'll work.

Another choice is to ORDER their tickets NOW...
and advance-book FP+.

They can also just use their ticket media at the in-park FP kiosks, no MDX account required.

Do they know that buying tickets at the gate is more expensive than buying them online?

I would encourage them to try to print their tickets at home and link their tickets immediately. If they wait to get them at the gate, FP+ will be very limited especially if they don't go in the morning. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will definitely be gone and other availability will be limited.

If they're only going for one day, it's actually the same. The pre-arrival discount begins at 3 days.

But yeah, they'll have better luck with FP+ if they order online even a few days ahead of time than if they try same-day.
