Whereabouts is this exactly? Is it near the AP office? I've never been to the AP office but I think I can kind of remember where it is.

Hopefully, we'll have time to pop in to have a little coffee break ;)

No, it's before you get into the park. Go to the right of the ticket booths, and there is a *secret* door just to the left of Guest Storage.

Someone posted a photo of it recently, I'll see if I can find it.

Thanks Elaine. Will keep my eyes open lol. Will also do a search on here later to see if I can find the picture of it.

While I'm on here, can anyone please tell me where the entrance to DLH is? If the time is right, I might want to take the kids to see the characters at 4pm.

Salon Mickey is for shareholders only - its a lounge at the entrance to the parks, where shareholders can have a snack and a drink, and a relax away from the crowds :goodvibes .

The entrance to the DLH is again, to the right of the turnstiles as you face the DLH and the Parks. Instead of going into the central tunnels under the DLH to get to the turnstiles, go to the right, around the side of the building as it were. You'll see revolving doors on your right-hand side before you get to the entrance gates of the park, this is the entrance to the DLH.

Thank you!! I remember a friend of mine (who stayed in DLH in April) telling me that they couldn't find the entrance to the hotel and that they wasted about 15 mins trying to find it (they didn't want to ask anyone in case others thought they were idiots lol) and they found it eventually. Her hubby wasn't pleased at all lol. I didn't bother asking her where it was as I wasn't planning to go in at all then.

Does anyone know if just the person who is the shareholder is allowed entry or can they bring their family too?

You can take 4 family members or 3 friends in with you. They will need to take all your park passes off you when you go in and will scan them then give them back to you as you leave as you go directly into the park through the private entrance.

You can bring your family too - there is 4 of us and we got in but I think there is a limit to the amount of people you can take in ( sorry will keep looking for the info - I have it somewhere!!!)

in salon mickey do you just help yourself to drinks or does someone wait on you?

hiya
we made use of it on tuesday, and tbh i was very disappointed in it. i was told it was only 3 ppl u cud take in, not 4, but after a bit of 'banter' we all got in.
the pastrys were very limited - only had enough for 1 per person whilst we were there, and then the cm came to us as we were getting ready to leave and told us that we were not allowed to take the drinks away with us, and made it clear she was not happy with us..... now, before u think, maybe we shudnt take the drinks - we hadnt actually taken anything!!!!!!!!!!! on our table was an empty bottle of orange juice, and half a bottle of water, which we hadnt packed, they were just there and we werent going to take them (especially the empty bottle lol) but after her comments we did take the half bottle (and another one) as we were quite disgusted by the fact she basically accused us of stealing drinks!

was very disillusioned, and never went back again, and prob wudnt ever go again after that. boys had been cold that morning (and it was snowing on n off) and we had been looking forward to our 'perk' but were made to feel very uncomfortable the whole time.

also - there were no facilities to change ds2, and when i asked where i cud change him - she gave my directions OUT of salon mickey, and half way across the park!!!! when i asked if there was no where nearer, she said if i wanted i cud use the floor of the toilet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so obviously i did.

only plus side was i got my very first mickey brioche there!

Ahh sorry to hear about your not-so-good experience Nikki. I did think when I saw the pictures that it looks to be a very 'grown up' place. We're still going to go anyway just because we can lol and see what it's like.

lol yes - it is very grownup in there. u do feel like u shud curl up ur lil finger whilst drinking ur tea!!!
also - it wasnt as big as i thought, and there were 5 other ppl already in there (and a toddler) and it did feel cramped....

but yes - why not go - its free and doesnt cost!!!!

Yes it is small, and yes to me it does have quite a grown up feel to it but the times I have been in there I have always found the CM's friendly. In October I visited 4 times over the course of our trip and each time myself, DH, my mum and dad each had a drink, pastery and took a drink with us (this was Halloween week so it was not quiet.) A week later I visited again twice and again took drinks with me, as did my guests that I had signed in and we had no problems with this. The times I have been in there there have been children and toddlers in there at the same time with no issues. I think it just seems grown up as it is small and the decor quite dark. But then again I do curl up my finger whilst eating and drinking (much to the amusement of my coworkers, I don't realise I am doing it!!)

We visit Salon Mickey a number of times during our visits. Unfortunately the behaviour of some guests who are both rude and greedy will see the end to this perk I'm sure.
Nikki I'm sure you were just on the end of a CM who had seen one to many guest remove the entire tray of pastries, grab drinks to take away or go back quite a few times for more pastries :confused3 Not right I grant you that you faced this :)

As far as being grown up we have been in with our troops since babies and definitely have never been made to feel awkward by CM's for taking children in with us :goodvibes

thanks reid & dana

maybe our cm was just having a bad day - or maybe the ppl in there had been in there all morning..... she really wasnt the best, and it was a shame as it would have been lovely....

maybe next trip ill try again...... just need to persuade dh on the next trip first!!! (after 2 trips and STILL hes not as in love with disney as i am - think im going wrong sumwhere.....:lmao: - new years resolution - get dh disney hooked :rotfl: )

Nikki, you are the 2nd person in a week who has told me a similar tale of their Salon Mickey experience, what a disappointment for you  but I'm remaining positive - I can't wait go go in there in March, but I do hope the drinks and pastries are there, especially the Mickey brioche, because I've told the rest of the family about it, not sharing my enthusiasm for "the experience", it's the promise of the drink and food that will get them there.

I'm sure Reid is right and I do think it will get worse, there will always be those that abuse a "freebie" like this.:sad2:
