Salads around WDW

DH has been on a very salad heavy diet for several years now. He'll certainly eat other things while we are on vacation, but getting him at least one really good salad every day (meal sized, preferably) would be great.

We will be traveling with 3 children, all good eaters, but one will be a WDW "adult". I'm wondering especially if we might sometimes get two children's salads w/Chicken for him and have the younger children share a scary large adult portion :goodvibes We will almost certainly be doing the DDP.

All insight appreciated. I think we will probably be spending 2 days in the Magic Kingdom, 2 in Epcot and 1 each in Animal Kingdom & Hollywood, with a wild card day ... but that's another question :rotfl:

Thanks!

The best Chicken Caesar Salad I ever had at WDW is at the Contempo Cafe, which is the counter service location at Disney's Contemporary Resort and each time you order it they are made fresh.

He can get this one at DHS, Fairafax Faire for a CS credit! :woohoo: It was fantastic!!!

Fairfax Salad - chopped romaine, refried pinto beans, pulled pork, roasted corn and sweet peppers, Pico de Gallo and monterey jack

I had a delicious salad at Columbia Harbor House in MK - it had grilled chicken, pineapple, feta cheese, and some other goodies. On 2 subsequent trips, my family had to eat there so that I could get the salad and on our last trip (Dec 08) it wasn't on the menu anymore. :confused3 They still have a meal-sized salad on the menu which I got that time. I did not love it like the prior offering, it had a lot of large chunks of vegetables on it, but maybe he would like it? I keep hoping they will bring that other salad back!
I have also had the Colony Salad at Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch menu) twice - it's very good!

My personal favorite is the chef salad from BC's room service!!

I don't this qualifies as a "healthy" salad though.

If you are looking for a nice break on your Epcot day, the Marketplace at BC has a make-your-own salad bar (they mix it for you, but you choose the fixins) that is really very tasty.

That Fairfax salad looks great. I'm going to have to try that for my trip in just 6 short days!!

The Cobb Salad at Hollywood Brown Derby. Note that for dinner it is listed as an appetizer for two, but it is a really great dinner for one.

They have some of the biggest, freshest salads I've ever had. It's in Downtown Disney and they are on the dining plan.
They have a few different kinds, but my favourite was the grilled chicken caesar. Fantastic!!

Artist Palette at SSR has some very nice salads.

Last week I very much enjoyed the Asian Chicken Salad. Mixed greens, chicken, cucumber, red onions (I omitted), dried/crunchy lo mein noodles and mandarin orange slices tossed in a mandarin ginger dressing.

Very light yet very flavorful. Large enought that I shared with DS11. Pleasantly surprised.

We really like the Declaration Salad at LTT for lunch. The apples and vinaigrette make it very tasty! The caesar salad at Le Cellier is also extremely good as well.

I need SEVEN great salads, at a minimum :cheer2: ... fortunately, the Contemporary is where we are likely to stay, so the Contempo Cafe will be a really great option for us (great tip CR Resort Fan 4 Life).

I'm very interested in the "more veggies" in the Columbia Harbor House MK salad, as we will be spending two days at MK (at least).

We will likely be park hopping and at the Contemporary, but are also considering Port Orleans Riverside (I think it is the only other resort that can handle our 5 in one room, besides the various suite options). DH nixed All Stars outright :rolleyes1

Earl of Sandwich will solve us for Downtown Disney.

Any great salads at Animal Kingdom???

I really enjoyed the Greek Salad at Pop Century. I also had a Greek Salad at DHS at the Backlot Express (they may not have it anymore).

Toy Story Pizza Planet has a good salad, too.

The Ensalada de la Casa at San Angel Inn was very good. I don't think I'd call it meal sized, but combined with another appetizer (duck tacos), it was a filling meal.

The Grand Floridian Cafe has (or had) a good mixed green/salmon salad with oranges and other interesting things.

And like somebody else said, the entree salad at LTT is great.

Where is Fairfax at DHS? I can't place it....
It is right across from TOT, near RNR. It is in that little area with Rosie's. I think it may have been called Toluca Turkey Legs (or something like that) before.
