So, I have some AMAZING NEWS - we are expecting our first grandbaby!!!!! :

Our oldest DS and DIL are expecting, she is due Feb. 9th - we are so excited!!! Some of you know about the last pregnancy and what happened, so we are especially excited this time!!!! Keep her in your thoughts and prayers that all goes well this time!!!

Thank you all so much for sharing in my delight to be planning a WDW in October again. This will be my 15th year to be there at the beginning of the month! What started out as a Girls Only weekend has grown into one of our favorite trips of all. It will be a completely different kind of trip with all of Bob's issues, but one that I think will help us both to see that our lives are different, not over!

It will be a blessing to be in your happy place as a family! Disney does a great job of accommodating special needs. We took my father in '09 and he was in a wheelchair for any distance (basically any park) and used a cane elsewhere. He was impressed with how the CMs made sure he had a good spot for shows and did not wait in the sun, and that was without seeking out any extra help.

Only 135 days until our first stay at Jambo!!!

I've read you can get night vision goggles to see the animals in the dark. Is this still true? Where do get them?

This is available to all guest out in the viewing area and any of the guides out there can help you with these. It is right after dusk. These are old school night vision, only shades of green. Most people confuse this with heat sensor technology, you can only see the different shades of green and it is pretty hard for most kids to find the animals. That being said, people will line up to use them and the last three times we were there, they only had 2 pair to share with everyone.

We will be staying at AKL for Christmas. I know it is an extremely busy time of year, but would it still be okay to ask for a specific area? We are staying Club Level and would like to be able to see the giraffes. Would it be okay to ask the concierge to add the request to our reservation? We are celebrating our 25th anniversary as well so maybe we could get pixie dusted for our request.

The Giraffes are all over and you will not have any trouble seeing them from a CL room.

For those of us visiting the end of September/1st week of October, we will be scheduling some Meets. We plan to start a link on the DisMeets forum and will post the link here. (probably mid-August)

I found a Meet at AKL in a Grand Villa on October 3rd if anyone's interested. It's a benefit for GKTW. I don't know these Disers personally, but it sounds like a nice event for a worthy cause. Here's the link:
