So happy today is my Friday. I haven't worked any OT this week, but I'm more tired this week than I was last week with 8 hrs OT

Going to have a great ''weekend'' Tomorrow Scott and I are driving up to our local winery...They do picnic lunches. Very romantic

And Friday we're BBQ'ing...It is supposed to be almost 100 degrees though

Im soooooo ready for our trip. Ive been posting like crazy on this board and I cant get enough pictures/videos of the parks and AKL/V. My iphone countdown says 50 days.

Still hoping our waiting list comes through for a Concierge room on Sept 11 and an additional night on Sept 17.

My wife and I are going on our honeymoon Sept 20th- Sept 25th and staying at AKL!! So Excited, we booked a Pool view room. What are everyones thoughts on the Pool view rooms at AKL?

OK, it's official I managed to rent points to stay 5 nts in a standard studio at Kidani Nov. 11-16!!! I'm now trying to work out airfare arrangements using some FF miles, which is always tricky - since the dates and miles never line up but I think I am going to be able to make it work. Originally nothing was available at AKL but we waitlisted and got lucky. I love AKL Jambo and that is where I really wanted to stay, so I am hoping Kidani will be as nice. What pieces of wisdom can you Kidani lovers share? Thanks.

The pool view rooms at AKL are wonderful! I prefer to have my room on the 3rd floor (lobby level) and I prefer Giraffe Trail for a better view (some of the pool view rooms have a roof view of the restaurants) - and it's an easy escape to the buses -- there are exit doors you can use; midway, between the two pods of rooms. That door isn't marked from the outside and you need your room key to enter the building that way.

Thanks for the tip RachelTori! We have a standard room - but since its just DD and myself I think I will try to "request" the giraffe trail so it means less walking (and stroller pushing!) to get to those buses! What do y'all think?

Thanks for all the well wishes, but I need the Kidani lowdown - like do I really need to ask for a certain location, and what should we do there that shouldn't be missed! We are definately planning 1 day just to lounge around at the resort. Hey anyone have a link to the spa!!!

This is the link to the on property spas, it has all the full service spas as well as the onsite hotel spas. I did a massage at Jambo house a few years back and it was just great!

We will be staying at AKL for Christmas. I know it is an extremely busy time of year, but would it still be okay to ask for a specific area? We are staying Club Level and would like to be able to see the giraffes. Would it be okay to ask the concierge to add the request to our reservation? We are celebrating our 25th anniversary as well so maybe we could get pixie dusted for our request.

So, I have some AMAZING NEWS - we are expecting our first grandbaby!!!!! :

Our oldest DS and DIL are expecting, she is due Feb. 9th - we are so excited!!! Some of you know about the last pregnancy and what happened, so we are especially excited this time!!!! Keep her in your thoughts and prayers that all goes well this time!!!

Thank you all so much for sharing in my delight to be planning a WDW in October again. This will be my 15th year to be there at the beginning of the month! What started out as a Girls Only weekend has grown into one of our favorite trips of all. It will be a completely different kind of trip with all of Bob's issues, but one that I think will help us both to see that our lives are different, not over!

To the poster who asked about CL rooms at Christmas... You can see giraffes on all the savannas, so if that is your one requirement you don't have to request a specific area. We were at AKL CL last Christmas and it was the most delightful place to be. You will love it!
