Help.
My family in Saint John wants to fly to Orlando and I initially thought it would be easy to get flights from Bangor but there is nothing Dec. 30-for a week. UsAir has flights for 600 per ticket.
Where do you fly from out of New Brunswick to get to Disney.??
Help.....

We have flown out of Bangor on our last two trips. We used Delta but someone told me they were pulling out of Bangor and Allegiant Air was starting up.

We drove from NS to Manchester NH. It was about 10 hrs from here, so 6 (ish?) from SJ. Manchester has SouthWest, but we ended up flying Continental--good schedule, good price, and absolutely no complaints (a revelation after years of Air Canada!!). We went down late Jan, return Feb, and had virtually dry, bare roads the whole trip. Not that we didn't chance something else, but we had a great experience.

Is driving to Concord NH or Portland ME or Boston MA or Providence RI then flying to MCO a n option?

Is driving the whole way on option?

Last two times we drove to Portland ME and got flights for four $1200 CDN. Compared to $4000 Air Canada. We flew Continental. Good luck in your search. Try going to kayak.com. Even if you don't book with them, it will give you an idea of the price and what airlines are flying from what airport.

Hi and thanks to all that replied.
Driving all the way is not an option.
I checked out Allegiant air and they fly wed/sat only so it would've worked but they have to go out sun/monday, so maybe next time
I know bangor is about a 3 1/2 hr drive for them and Portland about 5 1/2 hours so I will check out how far Boston and Providence are and then give them the options.
Funny, there doesn't even seem to be an option out of canada...i feel sorry for those on the east coast that they have to go through all this to get to disney, I probably would have never gone if the flight part was this difficult and this expensive. I looked at flights in Nvmeber flying sunwing out of toronto and it was gonna be 800 dollars for the 4 of us including all taxes....seems really good now.

I'm going from Halifax in April '08 (3 kids, 5 of us altogether). I'm lucky to have aeroplan points for 3 tickets.

But I ran across the amtrack auto train. It looked like $1000 for a round trip from Virginia to Orlando, including car, 5 coach seats and supper and breakfast. From Halifax, Virginia is about halfway to Orlando (Google says it is 15 hours from Saint John). Plus, you don't need a rental car when you get there. We always stay off site, we have a timeshare there. I'm definitely considering it for our next trip after April (maybe 2009?).

well we just came back from the "world".

we left from portland with usair for 900$ for 4 of us. go to a website called

www.kayak dot com and punch in your search. i seached it every dayf or 1 month and finally got a good price on it.

good luck searching for it.

Oh, there are options out of Canada. We can even fly Delta from here; it's just an expensive option.

We flew out of portland in may, 4 round trip tickets 1100 Can. It was 1500 to fly out of bangor, and 2600 out of Fredericton. I think the time of year that you are travelling has something to do with the high price. I have seen other post from people going late Dec. and flights were in the 600 range. My daughters are going in may 2008 and the cheapest they could find was 265 out of portland with jet blue, I think

Thanks to everyone.
Now it looks like we may hold off until first week of March to give ourselves extra planning time and time to get a better flight cost.
March break for him (teacher) is Feb, 29 until March 16 so we can go anytime in there, our march break starts the 7th...so we can slip out early.
I see delta from Bangor but NO direct flights with anyone. Allegiant air flys direct but go in to sandford airport??
I think they are now willing to fly out of portland as it is quite a bit cheaper with better flight options.
Anyone go around march 4th before....How crazy is it?
:hippie:

There is no magical express from that airport though right?
I don't know how they would then get to disney without a car rental.

I live directly across from the airport in Saint John so it makes sense for me to fly out of there. I am going to OPrlando Dec 18 - Jan2nd & got round trip for $696. Last year when I went I paid $960 so I am very happy. I checked flying out of Moncton but it was not cheaper & the flight when at 6am therefore I would have a night stay in a hotel so it made the trip more. I checked Bangor but again, drive down the night before, add a hotel & meals plus gas & it is not cheaper. Besides I am flying alone & who wants to drive the airline in the winter alone. All I can say is just keep checking & checking, prices change daily. Good Luck

Good point.

I'm sure there are shuttles, limo's etc that provide transport to WDW.

They can aways rent a car one way to WDW. We're renting a car to take us to Port Canaveral for a Disney cruise from MCO in OCT. Using the Disney's shutlle service was close to $300. Renting a car one way is $29.00 taxes in. We're doing the reverse when we return a week later.

If they can find flights that bring them into central Florida that is what counts. I always prefer to fly using direct flights. Less chance of lost or delayed baggage.

When we fly to Florida I don't limit where I fly out of or into. In southern Ontario we are fortunate to have so many US airport choices. When flying out I look at Buffalo, Rochester, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Detroit. Flying in I check Orlando, Sanford, Tampa, St Pete's, Jacksonville, Daytona Beach and the Miami airports. What I'm looking for is the most economical way to get there with the dates I need. IN the past we've flown out of Pittsburgh and are flying out of Detroit this fall. All this effeort is worth it compared to paying $2200 for the four of us to fly out of Pearson (Toronto)

But if I am staying on site for the my visit to WDW you are right, I try to fly into MCO to take advantage of Magical Express. Is it still free? I'm pretty sure in the future Disney will impose a fee for this service

Wow, Ham Ham, that's a deal on the car. We are considering a cruise and never considered a one-way rental, the drop off fees are usually prohibitive. Which rental car co are you using?

We are driving from Fredericton to Portland, ME and flying on JetBlue. The cost is $935 USD for 4 ppl. We do have the added expense of gas and hotel, but it is still a lot cheaper than flying out of a Canadian airport. It takes us approximately 5 hours to get to Portland, but it is a nice drive. We usually take a portable DVD player and watch a movie on the way down. Hope this helps. :)

Hey...yes i found them flights out of portland also but on airtran for 907.00usd for the 4 of them also....nice.
also they can fly out after lunch so they don't have to overnight if they don't want to ...or they can overnight and take an early flight out....
nice...

I use Budget and book online. When I first booked a few week ago it was $46 taxes in. On Saturday I checked and it was down to $29. Budget is also close to Port Canaveral with a shuttle. Drop off your party at the ship terminal and then head to Buget to drop off the car grab the shuttle back to the port. Do the inverse at the backend

You can also try booking the smallest car and hope they run out and then they will upgrade you for free. But if there is a small car you may not be able to fit your whole party in.

We will keep checking up until our departure date to see if the price goes down anymore. The more cars that are available the lower the price will go. Also when you get to the counter ask if there is a free upgrade to a larger car. Nice thing about Budget is that they are right in the terminal at MCO, no shuttle. PM me I also have a discount code I would rather not post.

As long as I've been renting cars in Florida there has never been a drop off charge.
