(Forgive me if someone else from our 11/2-11-6 Wonder cruise posted about this already - I just got on & haven't searched the pages during our 2-wk vacation.)
The day we left was a beautiful day, but windy. We sailed off in great weather, but it soon turned very, very windy & the seas were very, very choppy.
During dinner (1st seating) we encountered a very rocking boat. Felt fine and didn't let it deter my eating - maybe it should have!
After I stuffed myself full of shrimp & everything delicious I possibly could from the Triton's menu I headed back to get ready for the show & started feeling a bit queasy. By the time I got to Disney Dreams my head was spinning & I barely got to see the show. Diplomatically, I spent the entire time looking at rounded porcelain - along with many others.
Turns out, there were 50 mph (gale force) winds & 20'-25' waves. The boat was definitely a-rockin'! By 1:00 am it was calm.
An officer we asked told us that they had to 'batten down the hatches on the lower decks', the pool water was pouring out of the pools, we sailed into hurricane winds & had to alter the course so as not to go into the strongest part. I've never felt the ship rock like that. A CM told us that in the 7 yrs he's been on the ship it was the only time he got sick.
My husb. & sons never got sick at all. All in all, it was an experience & Disney handled it very well. Something to put in our scrapbooks for an 'interesting memory'!
