To all the past cruisers what can you tell me about the sail away party. Where is the best location on the ship for this? Do the cm's give out streamers to throw? Should I bring bubbles for the kids? Is there a special sailaway drink special to toast the cruise? Can you tell I am excited with all these questions???? Thanks everyone.

The Goofy pool on Deck 9 is covered for the party and there is dancing on and around the pool area. If you aren't interested in dancing, you might want to consider Deck 10, as it isn't quite as crowded. I seem to remember a "Drink of the Day", but I don't know if it was specific for the Sailaway Party. Bubbles for the kids would be a blast! The Cast Members shoot off streamers into the crowd on Deck 9, but they didn't hand them out for guests to throw.

Have fun!

you get the best view of everything from deck 10 but if ya want to dance then go on 9. personally i like deck 10 because you can watch the boat pulling away from the dock and you can also have a good view of the band!

Our sail away drink was something with pineapple(not my favourite) but I waited and soon they had this red and white layered drink both with and without alcohol. It was the best. If you see any red and white drinks grab one. Mine was only $5.50 without alcohol and I got to keep the glass. Have fun.

Are drinks also available on Deck 10? I don't recall what is up there???? We lived on Deck 9 (in the MM pool).

Last year we missed the party because DS was only 4. In Jan '03 we won't miss it. :jester:

im not sure of course, but at my sailaway party there were red and white layered drinks and they were pina coladas and strawberry daquerias mix.... i agree it was delicous!!

maybe that was it?

We enjoy the view on deck ten but it wasn't the best for our son's ears! You have to be careful with the little ones because the sailaway horn is extremly loud on deck ten, still it's a great time not to be missed!

On the three cruises that we've been on, we found the sail-away party to be crowded and the music to be very loud. Since we didn't have little ones who wanted to see the characters, we found the best sail-away spot to be on Deck 9 Aft behind the buffett. There were very few people there and we were able to chill out with our drinks, prop our feet up and watch as the ship sailed away. I did bring all the left over mini bubble bottles from our wedding on the second cruise. I passed them out to people around us and it looked like a scene out of Lawrence Welk or something. Very cool :) It also helped me get rid of all those silly Bottles that I'd been hanging on to for over a year at that point!
