I didn't want to hijack the other thread but I have a lot of questions!

Is the dessert party only 1 hour long?

How many people do you think could comfortably fit in Sago Cay? We'd likely have around 20-30 (including some kids)

Is it possible to get enough desserts and stay close to the $500 minimum (again, we'd have approx 20-30 people)

Are there setup fees if you aren't having music?

What time does the dessert party start? I'm guessing there can only be 1 per night to view the fireworks.

If you have any other info or are willing to share your DP costs I'd love to hear it :goodvibes Thanks in advance!

the party can be a little more than an hour maybe up to two hours you have to ask you planner about the detail and then get it added to your contract

way more than 20-30 I don't have my contract right next to me, but I believe it's a lot more than that something like in the hundred(s)

it's always possible to stay close to the minimum don't forget that besides the desserts you will most likely have a beverage package added on so you have to factor that cost in as well

there can be only one party at Sago Cay but there may also be a party at the Marina. If you have any other info or are willing to share your DP costs I'd love to hear it :goodvibes Thanks in advance!
hope what little info I offered can help

Sago Cay's capacity is 75 guests.

The best way to stay close to the $500 minimum is to throw out the set menus they send you and customize one that's cheaper. As Nikisha says, if you're adding in a bar or any beverages other than the coffee and tea included with the dessert menus, you need to factor that into your overall food and beverage spend. It could be that you only serve one or two desserts, but maybe they could be ones that make an impact, like flambe or build-your-own sundaes or something...

Our DP at Sago cay was from 8:30-10ish. The fireworks started at 10pm so while they were going on food was getting packed away. by the time they were over (10:15ish) the DP was over.

There is a $75 setup fee. We didn't build our own menu because there was a set menu that I really liked so I figured I'd just use that. We had 25 people and spent just over $1000 on the DP. We asked for a tap water station and they included it at no cost to us.

Thanks for the answers! I'm doing a swan wedding so I don't have a Disney planner, my swan planner handles only the swan ceremony. I'm guessing I'd have to book this myself through Disney Catered Events so I'm gonna give them a call later today.

Are the fireworks at 10pm every night? Our VR isn't until March 2012, but I'm trying to figure out what time to book the DP for.

When we had our Sago Cay Dessert Party it was in December and a night when they had the MVMCP and Wishes was at 9:30.

March is a busy month for Disney because of Spring Break times. I looked for this March and the Wishes times vary from anywhere from 8pm-10pm the later in the month you go. When you book the area for the fireworks they will let you know what time wishes will be that night and plan it around that.

I forgot to add this, here is our budget for the dessert party. We had 20 guests, $40pp, we added the soundtrack so that was an extra $500. It shows 16 guests but we adjusted it to 20, we also did not get charged the small party fee so they took that off and the total ended up being $1489.75
