Safes in the room at non-Disney hotels?

I was just asking a DISer if she remembered there being a safe in her room when she stayed at the Fairfield Inn, and she didn't remember seeing one. Anyone else who's stayed there, do you remember there being a safe in your room?

The hotel lists there being safe deposit boxes at reception on the marriott website, but doesn't mention room safes. This seems quite strange, we have always had a safe in our hotel rooms and we've stayed in a few hotels in the US. We use it for electrical items and also our passports and anything else valuable when out of the room, it would be a pain to have to keep going to reception to open a safe deposit box.

Do non-Disney hotels in Anaheim generally not have safes in the room. Would appreciate any input on this, thanks. :thumbsup2

No room safes, but I believe I saw the safe deposit boxes behind the check-in counter. You can also have security hold your laptop in their office.

Thanks, oh that's a pain for sure. :sad1: Do any of the hotels on Harbor Boulevard have safes? I'm really surprised, I thought all hotels in the US had a safe in the room, but obviously not! :confused3

Hojo's has in room safe - it's right across the parking lot from Fairfield.

Thanks for that, it's good to know that some of the hotels have them. We weren't too keen on Hojo's as we have two teenagers and the resort seems to cater to younger children, from what I've read, also it's a bit further to walk as well.

It's only about 2 mintues farther if that, really didn't find the walk bad and I am not it good shape. We never did really long days at the park usually about 10:00-6:00 and the walk was fine. The nice thing is the waterpark is separate from the swimming pool. However, the hot tub is in with the waterpark . We were in bulding 2 which is the farthest away is a pool view room and it was VERY quiet. It may be a little squishy if you need a cot. Although the kids suites are 2 rooms and can be quite reasonably priced depending on the discounts available. They don`t look really kid themed so maybe they would be an option

Best Western Park Place Inn does not have room safes. But they have these teeny tiny safe deposit boxes at the front desk you can use. I wanted to leave my wallet in there with a few other things and it wouldn't fit. It's only maybe an inch thick or so but it is pretty long. I so wish they would have had room safes.

Thanks for the heads up, maybe it would be an option for us. We would need 2 queens/doubles and a rollaway bed, so not sure if they could do that, need to look at their website I guess.

It's a pain isn't it? I really thought that all US hotels had safes in the rooms, now I know they don't, lol!

Has anyone used the safe deposit boxes at the Fairfield? How big are they? Thanks :thumbsup2

You've converted me, lol, have had a good look a their website - love the videos! - and have just booked a double queen room with rollaway with disney view, so thanks for your recommendation! :thumbsup2

Just a little update, lol, I've just changed the booking to a kids suite - 2 bathrooms, 2 tvs for $10 more per night - bargain!

Never stayed here (going to in the upcoming trip) but I believe Anaheim Plaza has room safes and it's right across from Disney.

I was going to suggest a family suite to you. We just got back from the HoJo with our 13 & 9 year olds, it's their favorite hotel. I'm sure you'll love it!!!
