I haven't seen any news about this, so thought I would inquire here. We were on the Safari ride the afternoon of Feb. 14th and all trucks were stopped at 3:50 pm. We sat in place a full hour, then the driver said instructions came to evacuate, so he drove us on an evacuation route for 20 minutes which led to the usual exit platform. Of course there was not a hint of what caused the evacuation and Safari was closed the remainder of the day. Any news?

Anyone have any info-hope it wasn't a critical situation with the animals.

Didn't it rain with heavy lightning that afternoon? I suspect it was for weather to not be in a tall metal truck during lightning.

Could a truck have broke down? In some of the narrow areas, there's no way around it.

We actually rode it last summer and a gazelle I believe got into the elephant area while we were there. Got pretty bad as they had a young elephant and they were not happy. Had to rush us out of there and get some rangers in to I assume tranq the gazelle and get him safe.

I'm not sure why Disney won't give people who paid money reasons for removing them from an attraction after a long delay.

Because sometimes we just don't need to know! Just because you paid money to enter a park doesn't entitle you to know every single thing that happens in there. Who knows, it could have been a safety issue. One that, if people had known about it, would have resulted in a bad outcome.
It was more than likely an animal issue. I've heard of animals getting into sections they shouldn't be able to get into. And I'm pretty sure Disney doesn't want little kids to see the 'circle of life' played out in front of them!! Or adults for that matter.
So, you get evacuated...and you go on with the rest of your day, yes, wondering about what the issue was.

I have to ask...why? For what possible reason do you 'need' to know? If you need to know something, in Disney's opinion, you'll be told. Otherwise, no need. As already noted...need is different than want.

Well, in the case cited, because Disney kept me hostage in a vehicle for 60 minutes+. That decreased the value of my park ticket as I could have been doing other things. So yes, I expect to know why that occurred. So I'd be that guest making a scene with the CM's and demanding one or several FP's for other attractions to make up for the inconvenience. And I'd continue the discussions until they relented.

No. I agree with@goofy4tink. You don't NEED to know, you WANT to know. Huge difference.

nah
