I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on the Safari Celebration that's offered for Grand Gatherings... is it worth it?
Last trip, I was told the safari at AK is closed after 4pm so they could tend to the animals, and then they sleep. But this Safari Celebration starts at 6:30 --- I'd like to think they're offering the safari when the animals will be out and about!
Then it includes a buffet at Tusker House -- which I am not familiar with.
Does anyone have any experience w/ the Safari Celebration and the Tusker House menu?? We have 10 in the party -- 4 adults and children ages 4,8,9,10, 15 and 17.
Thanks much!!!!

I am wondering about this too! It sounds great.....

do you have a reservation for 2009? or just know that you're going then? I want to plan a mother/daughter short trip next spring, but hadn't even called yet thinking they wouldn't have reservations open that far in advance...

My TA put it on "hold". I have not made my downpayment yet, but I will before Monday. You can make reservations now, for next year and they will adjust prices when the new ones come out this summer.

I was down for the WDW half this January and along with Boma I put the new Tusker House at the top of my restaurant list. I absolutely love the food selection there. It is kind of a running joke with my friends that every time we do a pot luck type lunch or dinner I bring some form of cous cous.

I am a pretty healthy eater (which isn't as hard as you would think at Disney actually) and as far as that goes Tusker House can not be beat.

And it was great, it is the same vehicles that they use for the ride, but not the same schtick. The food afterwards was really good, and they had musicians playing too. I think they brought some animals and maybe a character in for the kids, we did not have any little ones in our group that night. I would do it again, we would have done that for our son's rehersal dinner, but they were closed for re-hab. I will be booking it again for our next family trip.

Brought in some animals? like a baby tiger or a monkey or something?
We booked it today! I'm very excited. I tried three times and each time they didn't have enough seats available. Boy did we get lucky today. Just happen to call midday and bam - there it was!!!
