Safari Breakfast Buffet at AK

Looking for feedback on the Safari breakfast at Animal Kingdom. We are on the dining plan, but this would be an extra TS meal (over and above our allottment) so we would be paying OOP.

We already have 3 other character meals booked during our 7-day stay: Chef Mickey's for dinner, Ohana's breakfast, and Crystal Palace for dinner. Are there any special characters at this meal that wouldn't be at the others?

Also, anyone know if they have Mickey waffles on the buffet? I have seen one menu listing that says yes, while the other didn't mention them.

We have been to alot of character breakfasts and this is our new favorite- we went in May of this year. I love the character interaction, unfortunately cannot remember if they have the Mickey waffles. I love the characters in their safari outfits, and they Daisy did a cute little parade with the kids and some instruments. We loved it, let me know if you want pictures.

When I was there in March it was Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy.

The food was excellent. It's a must do on our next trip. We will also pay OOP for it too! It was that good!

I think that this is one of the only places that you see Daisy Duck. The characters here are Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Daisy.

Yep this is the only one I know of that has Daisy. We just got back a few weeks ago and thought it was one of the best buffets we went too.

Going to agree here, went for the first time in Sept. and we loved it. The food was hot and tasty and the character interaction was good. Definately going back.

I loved this meal. I've been to 1900 Park Fare and Chef Mickeys for breakfast and this was by far my favorite. We even had to wait 30 minutes before being seated. I was pretty mad about the wait, but the meal was so good that I was even thanking the hostess when I left.

They had the usual items (including mickey waffles), but some different breakfast things that were excellent. I would go again and pay oop.

Well Darn!! I just tried to change my ADR to here from Boma's on Dec. 23rd (ha - it was worth a try) and they are completely booked... Oh well - guess we will stick with Boma's... Thanks... we will have to try this next time!!!

We are a family of 6, with one child, our dear 6 yr old grandson. We are trying to decide whether to go for an early breakfast-around 8:15, and then on to the Kilimanjaro Safari, or do the ride first as soon as we can get on, and eat a later breakfast.
Any thoughts?
My husband is afraid we won't all be that hungry at 8:15, and bouncing around on the Safari right afterwards may not be a good idea.
I am all for eating first so we don't have to keep an eye on the clock to get back for a ressie.
I did wonder though- has anyone gone from breakfast onto the Safari? Is it so bumpy that it's a problem?

We like to go to Donald's early, and will Jan 8, then head to EE, although this time we will go the Safari route. First time to DSB but did Breakfastsaurus twice. Can't wait to met Miss Daisy.
