Safari After Navi Wait Time?

We are going to Animal Kingdom on an expected Crowd Level 10 day. If we rope drop Navi, how long of a wait to get on Safari can we expect right after? Park opens at 9am.

Is it possible to rope drop Navi, do the Safari, and make it to the 10am Lion King show?

I wouldn't count on making the 10am show.

You won't make the Lion King show at 10am. Would want to be there at least 15minutes before showtime and the Safari itsself is already around 15minutes in length + queue for RJ. I'd say its far too tight.

We had a 9-10a FP and went straight to Safari at opening (got in gates at 9:10-9:15 so not truly a RD!) and got off Safari about 9:50, no chance of making 10a Lion King. Everything is a good long walk in AK!

Plus sometimes there are “traffic jams” on the safari and the vehicles cannot move until animals decide to, so... (And yes, I have encountered even early morning jams. If a giraffe or zebra doesn’t want to move, it’s not moving.)

Yes! a baby Bongo held us up a few minutes. Was well worth rearranging our day as my kids got to watch it from that close!

How much time do you estimate the FP+ saved you?

probably 20 minutes or so? i was actually surprised, i expected everything except pandora to be kind of dead in the morning!
