Saddest Movie Endings

I agree with a lot of the posts (Toy Story 3, The Outsiders, Million Dollar Baby). I'm going to throw mine in the hat, Saving Private Ryan and Dead Poets Society.

I avoid any movies that have a dog as a main character, never ends well. :(

All good choices, but the ones that always get to me are when children die. As good of a movie as it is, cannot watch Bridge over Terabithia again.

Marley & Me

When I left the theater all red-eyed someone coming in for another show commented to their friend, "She must have just seen Marley."

“La Strada” and “Au revoir les enfants” run neck and neck for me. Two different genres, same emotional ending.

When that movie came out I had a yellow lab that was dying of cancer. My DW and I were deciding on what movie to see and I refused to see Marley because, just watching the trailers, I knew the dog died. Couldn't do it, still haven't seen it.

Sorry, "spoiler alert".

My Mom's favorite film...a film sooooo not politically correct today...was Imitation of Life. I watched it with her once, rolling my eyes, but by the end when Mahalia Jackson comes on to sing "Trouble in the World" I was *sobbing.*

How has no one said "The Iron Giant" yet? It is the one movie that makes my husband cry every single time!
