A year ago, we decided we needed to find a new home for our two dogs. One of the other nurses at work wanted to have her granddaughters see them to see if they would like them. Their mom (Bev's daughter---Bev the nurse I work with) had been battling cancer for her 3rd or 4th time and she wanted the girls to have the dogs to kind of help them cope. Suzi had fought breast cancer, laryngeal cancer, and was now fighting esophageal cancer.
They took the dogs and the girls absolutely fell in love with them. Fast forward to Monday. Suzi has lost her very long fight with cancer. I only met her once, but I so admired her strength and determination. I feel so for Bev....this is the second child she will be burying. And, for Bev's granddaughter's, of course, who are now without a mom at such a young age (I believe they are about 13 and 12).
If you could, say a few prayers for Bev and her granddaughters....Abigayle and Gabrielle. Thanks so much.
